Wolfenstein: The New Order

Cool il notch that down, :) What settings do you use in Nvidia Control Panel by the way? I know triple buffering needs to be disabled due some issues with it in game. Would be obliged.

Purchased on Saturday, been downloading ever since and finally got to play it tonight.

I've been playing this game for the last 2 hours. A few of the dogs have made me jump. :(

Hopefully I get to play a lot more before and at the weekend! It's been good so far.

Haven't changed anything in nVidia control panel for close to 10 years now :p

I had no issues at 3440x1440 on Ultra settings. An initial issue with 1fps when looking at certain areas but the VF Cache setting set to 32 instead of 64 sorted that, made no visual difference.

Game installed on SSD with 16GB RAM although the game uses about 1.2GB of system RAM anyway so that is a non issue.

Very interesting that, If your right about the 1.2GB of ram it must be paging the rest (bet your reloads were slow)
It was using about 6GB for me (no paging file)

The game runs very fast and smooth just noticed a couple of momentary glitches in some of the latter cut scene videos but never slowdowns in gameplay, in fact had to use VSYNC to stop the tearing.

Windows still pages even if you turn the pagefile off. My pagefile is set manually from 800MB min to 2GB max. Reloads were fast, a few seconds. My pagefile is on the same SSD so there would be no difference here. Windows needs to page anyway so turning it off doesn't gain you anything and only causes certain software to complain.

As I say, I had no problems in that regard at all. Some people said their game took 10 seconds or more when reloading, mine certainly didn't.

catalyst 14.4 worked ok, it only crashed once yesterday, when the rig was reduced to about 1fps ....(the start of the Moon level)

but the fans are running extremely fast now, so when i've finished the game i'll probably delete it from Steam, it needs too much RAM grunt and it will probably damage the rig if i continue gaming

what does this game need:-
1...much more than 8GB RAM
2...A faster better quality MOBO than mine
3...a better Hard Drive

but all of this means a new rig doesn't it, because there aint much else to change is there :D only the card and that'll need replacing next year anyway!!!

but i guarantee you that you'll not download another game as bad as this, so there's no need to build a new rig yet..... this game hates AMD ? NO because Fallout 3 was Nvidia and Wolfenstein has exactly the same bugs as that game !!!!

We best not get into pagefiles other than it's going to use memory or drive ;)

I can only go by what my system used, OK a 20% increase in FOV could be an extra 40 odd % of textures but I was using 6GB of memory

Be interesting if a couple more people could Alt tab out and check usage 1.2GB sounds very low

it's running and sounding exactly the same as a ``Prime Stress Test``, so something is seriously wrong, the rig sounds like a hair dryer :eek: but with Crysis 3 it's dead silent

I don't n we what else to say other than my system seemed fine at the native res mentioned. Maybe my system is able to run the game without having to sit a lot of stuff in RAM compared to other configurations? This game uses texture streaming so of your system components work well with each other things should flow at a steady speed without a bottleneck anywhere right?

I'm quite pleased with my rig though, it's not the latest hardware in there but it's good and fast and reliable :p

:D:D

I told you all this days ago :D
Nothing should run hot, take of you overclocks, can not suggest anything for ATI as I sadly dropped them years back after many annoying crossfire issues etc and they would not play my some of my old OpenGL games then !, sounds like OpenGL support is still bad... Shame I always supported them.

:D, something is wrong, Crysis 3 should be like prime...Is for me

The only difference is you GFX card. must be the issue, chill and work out what's happening :D

there's one other problem....................the ASRock Mobo :) Because this definitely isn't as good as my old MSI, i was warned about buying this version, but i had no choice because my last ASRock blew under guarantee, so i had to have the same again, the card is fine, because it is for all other games too

this is a typical Bethesda game, like the cursed Fallout 3..............BUT.............Dishonored was perfect wasn't it, the most reliable game i've ever played, so i'm not quite sure what's going on, no, the safest bet is to find another game to play:p but what i know not

finally it's not AMD, it's Bethesda and they wont fix this game, because they ignored all the Fallout 3 complaints as well, that was a fault with the Pitboy radio.

Just finished my first playthrough and I loved it. I did have some minor hiccups along the way but my old Phenom 980 and HD 7870 ran the game pretty well. Hope it gets a patch before the weekend I want to do the other timeline on Uber/death incarnate. Roll on lots of DLC!.

Follow the onscreen instructions :p

Hold the left mouse button down when the indicator omes up and move the mouse left and right slowly until the markers line up and click.

Yes it is different depending on who you saved. If you saved Wyatt, the unit next to the window is a lock that can be picked, and if you saved Fergus, it's a box of wires.

Lock: hold down mouse 1, move the mouse and try and line up the three dots with the green indicator.
Wires: Move your mouse to bring the wires together. This needs to be done 3 times (which lights up 3 lights; one by one) within a fairly tight time limit otherwise you 'lose' progress and back to square 1 (no lights lit)
