Wondering How To Get A Job As A Gaming Scientist? Ask Richard Huddy from AMD!

Ok Richard, now it is understandable that you are a company guy and you are rather good at getting the company message across.
Has there been anything with AMD that you really haven't agreed with, but ended up toeing the company line anyway?

With a few Nvidia fanboy's/possibly share holders on this forum telling me that I am talking nonsense and I can not possibly make an educated guess about Amd's next gen high end products based on how long you have had your high end last gen cards out and Amd's track record of giving their customers a sizable increase in performance between gens (unlike Nvidia with the 970) can you tell me the 390x/390 release date so I can say "I told you so" early? :D

You just can't drop it can you? Told to do so in another thread then try to start it again in this thread by starting your question with obvious bait. It's a stupid question as well considering he's not going to release information like that on their next cards through a Q&A at kitguru.

You could have quite easily just said "What kind of performance increases can we expect from AMDs next cards?" but no you want to start a flame war yet again.

How did you help develop tressFX for tomb raider when you are bald? Did you have to find a particularly hippy member of the predominantly male staff to use as a benchmark of how the hair show flow for physics calculations?

My question was a simple joke but I guess you wouldn't have grasped that looking through your red tinted glasses. Nobody else took issue with it, just like all the bald jokes.

Guys please can you leave that (arguing) for another thread and can we give the same old boring hair questions a rest please? Cheers. :)

What do you most admire about Nvidia - are there any ideas or technology you wish you could steal from them? Or perhaps staff that you would poach?

Will we ever see a third graphics card manufacturer make an impact on the industry?

Well then take my question as a joke too like you should have instead of having to chip in everytime you think I say something against your beloved green goblins.

The difference is your post clearly wasn't a joke, you aimed it directly at members you think have an allegiance to nvidia based on nothing and then expect an answer so you can go running back to a thread and start flaming again saying "look I told you so".

Is Mantle still on track for full release come year end?

Crucial info is required when fine tuning your PC for optimal performance, is Unwinder working on implementing Mantle osd/server data in Afterburner, if not(and no one else is) why are there no data tools for Mantle?

Now that you have infiltrated a leading GPU manufacturer how will you leverage your resources to destroy Superman? Can we assume kryptonite will form part of AMD's marketing strategy in the future?

Someone has got to ask the hard questions I guess so here goes...

1) According to you Nvidia is "too proud" to adopt mantle. Does this mean that AMD was too proud to adopt CUDA? (CUDA is just about as open as AMD claims mantle will be in the future)

2) How is AMD going to deal with its dwindling R&D funds in an industry where more and more money is required to push the envelope?

3) In the short term how is AMD going to answer the GTX 970, the card that is faster than a R9 290, draws less power and costs considerably less?

4) In the long(er) term how is AMD going to deal with the added costs of interposers, TSVs, and other tricks required to get HBM working? And in addition how will these upcoming new techniques (along with watercooling) affect future card pricing?

5) If you indeed intend to launch a Gameworks competitor (whatever it would be called) would it be pretty much feature complete out of the box, with nearly 100% of the features and functionality of Gameworks or would this be more of a PR push by getting a PR name out there and asking non-AMD developers to contribute instead of doing the work in house? In other words do you actually have a big team that can work specifically on effects like this?

6) Do you still stand by your comments about g-sync adding an extra frame of lag even though 3rd party testing (blurbusters) has shown that it does not?

7) Why shouldn't people assume that free-sync will end up like HD3D?

8) With the talk of mantle coming to linux how would HLSL affect that effort?

9) Why would any other GPU company adopt mantle when AMD is still in control of its future? Does this not mean that if others adopted mantle AMD would be capable of moving the API in a direction that would be least favorable to those other companies?

10) Moving forward what is AMD going to do to address the laptop dGPU market? Long and short term?

Not interested in the funny-post-gifts, I want actual information from AMD about actual issues.

If you look back through your posts butting in everytime I say anything against Nvidia I find a lot more insults and non jokes against me but you obviously think that is acceptable behavior. It's impossible to reason with that type of person so better to leave you be.

It's the complete opposite to be honest, you've proven time and time again you can't let it drop as shown above. You always have to try and get the last word in even when you tell me you're going to leave it be.

Nvidia fanboy with an AMD card?

You were asked by the moderating team in the previous thread to drop it and everybody did and now you've basically just ignored them. I hope you're not trolling because the mods look down upon said behaviour :). Keep to the topic of the thread rather than re-opening petty grievances from previous threads.

I would not have to let it drop if you stopped butting in everytime I say anything against Nvidia. I will let you have the last word saying as that is what you want.

It's not butting in, it's a forum for discussion so you can't just post what you like and expect nobody to question it. The fact is you could have quite clearly just worded a question to Huddy like I suggested above but you had to bring up the exact same stuff as a few days ago and have a little bash at nvidia to make you feel better. Then you try to copy me and play it off like it was a joke when it clearly wasn't.

How much will we have Toupée for the next video card? :)

Did you define / make up the job title yourself?

We we see any truly High-end cpus again in the future?

How long, do you predict, until we see HSA used in gaming?

Please keep this thread on topic, otherwise your posts will be deleted and users possibly banned. Thanks.

Why does every thread have to result in pathetic attempts at one-up-manship? Same people derailing thread after thread.
