If you're self employed like me there's nothing to stop you carrying on using the old clock times, a friend of mine does just that.

Can anyone tell me a single reason why this still happens?

It causes tons of car accidents and massacres on the country roads for animals and for some reason it is something the politicians repeatedly avoid taking action over.

It baffles me as to why it has not been changed.

Probably more effort/problematic to remove daylight savings now than just continue living with it.
I've never found it an issue.

Nor did I, but apparently there are lot more car accidents when the clocks change. It suddenly throws commuters into driving in darkness.

Animals know when the rush-hours are. Changing the times kills huge numbers of them.
