I think that it would be much more productive if the UK Muslim community and the EDL actually co-operated and worked together in this fight against radicalism & extremism. A man can dream eh?

That's a brilliant story :)

While I'm sure there are some in the EDL simply opposed to extremism (presumably those in the above story were in that category) there are unfortunately many others who are simply trouble makers, low IQ types who are easily lead/join in because their mates are or are outright racists with darker agendas.

It would be nice if people were able to legitimately protest against extremism but unfortunately such protests will inevitable be hijacked by the far right.

If someone went to Saudi and started cursing the country etc i wonder what would happen to them. Would they get a nice big house to live in? A nice wedge of money to live off of? Full health care benefits? A top of the range hook as a replacement for a lost hand?

Anyone can be anonymous you do realize that right? that is what anonymous means. "official" statement, how official can you get coming from anonymous? if they didnt have the V face youtube video with computer voice, then its not official imo. lol

I could write something and post it on pastebin with a similar signature and then go to their irc chan and post it there and pretend that i have everyone with me. Not that difficult. Even the syrian army or mi6 could do it.

Hate to discuss numbers here, but the way this whole incident is being dealt with, makes it seem like people are being killed in droves by these religious nuts and our civilisation is on the brink of collapse. How many people have exactly died from terrorism? What percentage of the muslim population do these extremist nutcases represent?

Seriously, people need to get a grip on reality. I honestly can't wait till humanity has to face an actual threat, something like a meteor impact, super bug/virus, solar flare, sudden climate change, alien invasion, etc. We will then realise how lucky we are to be alive.

They represent enough to make themselves the government in Afghanistan until it was invaded. They ran the entire nation.
Take Iran, since their Islamic revolution they have dictated the state, and still control it. Despite the wishes or aspirations of their peoples.
People do need to get a grip. Hitler started somewhere and he didn't have religious fervour as his ally. Its less likely to happen now, but force enough people under the cosh of any religious oppression and it can be hundreds of years until they throw off the yoke. Communism took its time to depart, and even now certain states still operate in such fashion.

You mean like the World Trade Center? people cared for a while then it went back to the same old ways. But not for those who were greatly affected that rescued people, the rescuers as they risked their lives, lost others and their loved ones.

Who in their right mind would want a meteor to hit the earth, or a virus epidemic. Or people burning alive with no ozone layer. Nearly all of that is someone watching too much Hollywood. Except climate change which is an excuse to abuse tax hikes. It's been changing since the earth began.

Climate change is usually shorthand of anthropogenic climate change. Yes, the climate has been changing since Earth began but nowhere near as fast as it is today and not by our intervention.

Anthropogenic climate change is killing and will kill more people than Islamic terrorists ever will. There's a strong scientific consensus on that.
