He's not justifying them, he's drawing parallels, and I refer you back to my Frankie Boyle scenario.

He is claiming they are equivalent scenarios when they are not and obfuscating currently known fact to create a parallel that does not exist. He is essentially saying that the reason such events may occur is because of the governmental policy and its subsequent military action. Therefore, he is justifying and qualifying the causation whilst at the same time castigating the actual act.

I just want to know when the Muslim community is going to actively do something about certain elements that belong in that community and why people can spend so much time here castigating the actions of the imperialist Western powers and so little keeping their own shop in order. Smacks of doublespeak to me.

However, you say that "just hating the west doesn't cause this behaviour" surely depends on a combination of Extreme religious indoctrination/Our foreign policy abroad and lack of empathy. The four reasons you gave are not mutually exclusive.

Oh I agree, which is why it's a combination of many different things which results in it.

But simply hating the west alone wouldn't result in this kind of behaviour if say the person had a well established empathy (for example) - but yes, they are not mutually exclusive/inclusive & many other factors exist.

This has absolutely **** all to do with patriotism. The chap who committed this heinous crime appears to be British, or at least raised in Britain. It's nothing to do with patriotism at all. It seems to be mass stupidity on the part of the British public that they think this has anything to do with foreigners. I am proud to be British and a large part of that pride is made up of the fact that we are so accepting, aim for equality, and that Britain is made up of people of any race.
