I'm sure there'll be a way of getting King through the tournament safely, even if it means resting him for the 'easier' games.
We're still going to have 5 CB's (inc Carragher & Upson) so I don't think that part of the squad will be a problem. :)

Are you going to want to be changing your CB pairing every other game though? The centre of defence needs stability and that's something King can't provide imo.

At least Ferdinand has broke down now rather than after the cut-off to name a replacement because if and when King is ruled out, we'd then have issues.

Nope, if you had the choice, but you have to play your best side against the best teams.
King & Terry are the best 2 CB's in the squad so you have to play them when you can, v teams like Algeria we should be able to beat them with the likes of Upson & Carragher at CB.
King played 2 games in 5 days at the end of the season so he can do it and we won't have any games closer that that if we progress.

You're relying on everything going perfectly. It's far from certain that he'll be able to recover properly to play every 5 days for 3 or 4 games and that's still ignoring the very real possibility that he'll aggravate the injury and be out for a week or 2 at some point.

Edit: It's all confirmed now; Ferdinand is out, Gerrard to be Captain and Dawson called up.

Dawson, fantastic, should have gone in the first place.

Just and 'only' my opinion, but im not that fused at Rio not being there.

For all the good he does, there allways seems to be those moments where he costs the game where his mind is elsewhere, and it allways seems to show that he doesn't look that botherd about it when it happens. I know bashing a guy on a forum in one of his darkest hours probaly isn't the brightest, just going on what i see and think from it, each to their own, and all the best for the guy for the future.

100% allways from dawson, we need that more if we're gona win it, why i like the guy... it's that which gels the team, not the arm band.
 
Oh well, at least Rio got injured now rather than 5 minutes into our first game.

22% of the England squad is now Spurs. 4th place here we come. :)
