I'm disappointed Theo isn't going... I still think he's a good player, and has plenty of potential but it's a setback for his career for sure. I can only hope this kicks him up the arse to work on his game some more.

Walcott never looks up before he does anything either, his awareness is shocking.

That is my thought. Hope he improves off the back of this.

Arsenal fans can only hope:p...i dont rate him at all...never have probably never will. But if he can somehow improve next yr then great...if not Wenger really needs to off load him and get someone else in.

He had the same potential when you signed him 4 years ago, he hasn't improved nearly as much as you would have hoped. At 17 his pace looked frightening especially with the potential for Wenger to get the most out of him. So far he has failed, and at 21 is already looking like another Jeffers like signing.

Er, just like Lennon was garbage up until he had a few good months this season? now everybody thinks he's amazing for some reason, rather than a previously poor player who had a few months of good form.

The polar treatment of Walcott and Lennon is unexplainable, I can't understand why everybody is so forthright to big Lennon up who was consistently poor for years, just 'cos he had a few good games about 6 months ago. The logic isn't adding up for me.

shhh don't mention the J-word!!
Walcott's only 21, he's still got his best years ahead of him, and some players mature later than others (though the way he burst onto the scene, he doesn't look much like a late bloomer). I agree that he's not as good as we hoped, but he has shown flashes of what he can do to teams on the counter-attack (perhaps his omission is a sign that Fabio doesn't want to play that kind of football, and that's why he gone for SWP). If he's still crap in two seasons time I will join the naysayers, but I've not given up hope yet :)

God I really hope England win the group. If they don't and come 2nd AND beat Germany they will be playing the quarter final on my Wedding Day..

Hopefully the odds are this won't happen!?

Just phone up the Beeb/ITV whoever has the rights that day, and arrange for a shoutout on TV to you the newlyweds...
Ta Da! perfect excuse to give the missus as to why you have to have the coverage on during the reception! :D

It is being released in one big go, this is ALL the media making it stupid, as per usual.

Capello will be informing all of the players personally and then will release the squad, all of the rest of this is just the BBC/rest of the media jumping on any random twitter/made up rumour then can to make things 'interesting'. In fact it's just embarrassing

SWP is hardly that much better running with the ball. Most of the time it is bouncing off his shins and he loses control of it. He often overruns it as well. What he does have over Walcott is the confidence to at least try and have a go at his man.

All this is is another blow to Walcott's confidence. But from that BBC feed, I saw this:

From philmcnulty on Twitter: "Informed sources round up so far. Baines, Bent, A. Johnson, Walcott out. Joe Cole, SWP, Carrick & Warnock (presumably) in."

How on earth would Warnock be in? He's done nothing to merit a place.

I'm going to turn off this feed until the squad actually comes out. I wouldn't be surprised if its all rubbish and Walcott is actually in to be honest.

SSN reporting that Baines hasn't been included.

King, Cole, SWP and Warnock are in according to SSN.

If these rumours are to be believed I don't know what Capello is thinking, SWP? Carrick? Heskey? King? Warnock?

Really??????

This is the World Cup, the real one, those players belong no where near a World Cup squad, especially an English one.

So Capello was talking crap when he said he'd only pick players who were playing regularly and would pick players based on form?

It seems as though that was utter rubbish, probably told the public what they wanted to hear and did what he wants anyway, sounds like politics to me ;)
