I know they're different players, but

:( So much for using form as a guide.

8 shots on target in 30+ games. This is an England international player. I can't wrap my head around why that fat lump of **** is going. I can't.

He holds the ball up well. Bring others into play.

Sven, Mclaren and Fabio can't all be wrong. I mean aside from Mclaren they all been considered world class managers during certain periods of time.

He deserves a place, I don't think a starting place, but the option of bringing him on for the last 15 against a tired defence makes a lot more sense than taking Heskey or SWP.

Edit - He can also double up as a striker which could come in handy.

Thats what Lennon is for plus he can cross a ball unlike walcott. SWP has a better end product than walcott as well so its a no brainer. when walcott is rubbish he is definitely rubbish

Bugger, had hoped Walcott would have gone just to get some pitch time, and the chance to train with a different squad. That may have benefited him & Arsenal a bit.

Still can't believe 3 in form players this season in Johnson, Bent and Parker will be ditched in favour of the likes of SWP, Heskey and Carrick.

Same here. Parker and Bent inparticular!

I'm not even English and I would still take them if I was being forced to be England manager. Not ****ing Heskey!

I feel sorry for you.

Who is going to be England's scapegoat now Walcott isn't there :(

SWP, Heskey, Carrick et al. = :(:(:(:(:( Surely nobody believes we can come even close relying on players like those?

The Carrick one really gets me worried... he has been terrible this season, and he's not really much good as a ball-winning holding midfielder anyway.
If Barry isn't fit, I think we have to play Stevie G in that role, and Milner further forward in the centre, I really do. It's a waste of Gerrard's talents, but Carrick can't do that role, and let's not forget that was where Steve played in the 1-5 victory over Germany

So if Lennon has been on for 75 minutes we can substitute Lennon and put Lennon on to run at tired legs :s ?

I know Walcott isn't a good winger, but what if Lennon gets an injury, or just plays poorly, the country is relying on SWP. :/.

To be honest, I'd rather rely on SWP than Walcott. SWP can actually control a football for a start.

Yep and no doubt just like the last time we will increase the managers contract to 500 years on 10 million a year and then want to sack him ;)

Walcott over SWP is a surprise, I think SWP offers more over the course of 90 minutes but Walcott has much greater potential to actually do something out of the blue. It doesn't matter as neither would be starting anyway.

I'm glad Warnock has come over Baines, much better player.
