well at least we're not taking an unproven 17 year old, still a step up from Sven Moron Eriksson
So Capello was talking crap when he said he'd only pick players who were playing regularly and would pick players based on form?
lolWalcott.
Doesn't deserve a place, not good for his career though
He deserves a place, I don't think a starting place, but the option of bringing him on for the last 15 against a tired defence makes a lot more sense than taking Heskey or SWP.
Er, just like Lennon was garbage up until he had a few good months this season? now everybody thinks he's amazing for some reason, rather than a previously poor player who had a few months of good form.
The polar treatment of Walcott and Lennon is unexplainable, I can't understand why everybody is so forthright to big Lennon up who was consistently poor for years, just 'cos he had a few good games about 6 months ago. The logic isn't adding up for me.

Edit - He can also double up as a striker which could come in handy.
If you consider Lennon garbage until his amazing form at the start of the season then I hate to think what word you would describe Walcott as, rotting effluent maybe? Lennon has never been poor, he could always beat his man, something Walcott isn't capable of. His crossing was always substandard but has been improving all the time, and I'd even regard it as 'good' now, hence the 10 assists he got in the league this year.
Maybe because Lennon wasn't consistently poor for years, have you considered that maybe your facts are wrong, which is why your logic doesn't add up? Compared to Walcott who literally has never got more than 3 assists in the league over a season, a stat that for a winger is shocking.
bbc said:The England squad will be announced on the FA's website at 1600 BST. That is the first official confirmation of anything we've had all day.
Walcott was already rated above Lennon before this season, Lennon was probably more inconsistent than Walcott!
Walcott has had some shocking injuries since then and Lennon had a few good games, suddenly Walcott is rubbish and Lennon is the second coming. Football fans are very reactionary, the very fact you wrote Walcott off as another Jeffers, when he's 21, says everything. Ridiculous.
How can the BBC announce Walcott isn't in, if they have no proof? Do they have a leak inside? Bit harsh on him if its not true.
