World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Funny just got a email from Dell saying great news your order has been shipped early, been waiting four bloody month's.

Still waiting on useless UPS, long long wait probably 7pm for mine.
Wouldn't be suprised if it was stolen UPS are the worst of the worst.

Contacted Dell support said UPS are still making delivery today by 7pm yeah right bet it's tomorrow now.

My replacement (for dead pixel) one has arrived, box looks in alright condition to be fair. Not opened yet but will do so later on probably.

Not arranged collection for old one yet but that is normal, it seems they drop off and collect at a different date, after all you need time to pack the old one up and may not have a replacement to use until new one is in place.

Just received mine as well - knew it would come early!

Anyway, everything is looking good except for the fact that there's a black screen until the login screen so I can't access BIOS settings. I can access BIOS if I connect my old monitor though. Any ideas how to fix this?

Update: This GPU firmware update fixed the issue: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5233/

…ordered 24 March 2022, shipping date 28 July 2022 (today!), delivery date 29 July 2022 (tomorrow!)…still saying “Your order is being scheduled for production and is on track to meet the estimated arrival date.” …and it’s still not ‘In production’. I’ve also not yet received a delay/lack of parts email.

I’m managing my expectations and assuming a <25% chance it will actually arrive tomorrow, but I’m really hoping to be pleasantly surprised. I’ll keep you posted!

Out of interest, does anyone have any suggestions for either a desk-based or wall-based VESA monitor arm/mount that works well with this monitor? I’ve got an AW3418HW mounted on an Ergotron LX at the moment and it’s OK but I’m always (!) looking for an upgrade…
Arrived! Had my order brought forward by a few days.

Early thoughts...

- Looks amazing.
- Initial impression is that HDR1000 looks better than HDR400 trueblack
- Positively surprised at the frame rates I'm getting. I was worried my RTX 4090 would suffer moving from 1080p ultrawide to 1440p ultrawide but it's not an issue so far (only played a few games though)
- Ergotron LX monitor arm works just fine.

What are people doing to prevent 'burn-in'?

Cheers,
WinterMute

Use it like normal imo, more or less. Don't fully turn the power off, it does a pixel refresh when in standby mode if you switch the power off using the power button bottom right. I actually disable the warning message option in the monitor menu because it's kind of annoying.

Settings here from @mrk review on neowin: https://www.neowin.net/news/review-...-qd-oled-ultrawide-monitor-by-dell-alienware/

Roll to the bottom to get the TL:DR, but it's a good place to start :)

Btw I have switched back to HDR 1000 for games after the chat earlier in the thread. Will experiment in Res Evil 2 Remake again and see if the HDR blackness is expanded as it felt crap on 400 as noted previously and I thought it was just bad implementation in this game.

Didn't get the parcel told Dell if doesn't arrive by tomorrow 7pm will cancel the order, I'm not being messed around by UPS they are scum have zero trust in them.

Will buy LG 42 inch C2 maybe or wait for something better.

Well I must admit I'm extremely surprised as to how good this thing actually is ! Hdr with games is just phenomenal, only tried horizon so far ! And it's not actually as big as I thought it would be with the curve, still getting used to it though ! Just crazy how much oled makes a difference ! The response time feels great on csgo too.

Had bubble marks on mine but just cleaned off with screen cleaner other than that it's perfect (not checked for dead pixels but don't notice any)

Don't notice the fan noise over my pc unless I stick my ear over the top of the screen.

Just left mine on standard as I feel it looks better than creator mode (brightness 45, contrast 75)

Can't really see the text fringing unless I sit stupidly close.

Overall very much worth the 4 month wait time ! So glad I ordered one now !

You have a 4090 already? Are you from the future?

And enable Gsync in the nvidia control panel as it may be off by default. Also delete the icc colour profiel you /may/ have in display settings as it can mess with colour output in certain apps. It is not needed. SRGB mode in Creator is nigh on perfect for accurate viewing for normal use and media consumption.
