But annoyingly I moved over to the Aw38 from the 34... so moving back down to 34 is not as appealing. Will be interesting to see this go head to head with the 42 inch oled, which will likely be cheaper.

I think they would lose a ton of sales to the 42" C2 if its crazy expensive - guess it depends on how expensive it will be to make them and how much R&D costs factor in ?

We also had/have dell and sony oled monitors too, dell one was more consumer grade where as the sony oled monitor was for the pro. market and even then, the dell was still 5k iirc.

Be happy if this is even £3k imo lol... Just no way this will be cheaper than that:

- gsync module - we all know that adds a massive fee, usually a £300+ premium over the freesync version
- QD OLED - first to market of any kind, even the TV market, sonys QD OLED TV has been said to be coming out at £8k and we all know the tv market is cheaper
- ultrawide and curved - we all know this form factor costs more than the bog standard 16.9 4k panels
- alienware branding - not much needs to be said here
- 3 year warranty cover for burn in
- Throw in a high refresh rate of 175HZ and the first oled monitor to have a refresh rate over 60HZ

Optimistic price expectation 3.5k.... but fully expecting it to be 4/5k

I was unaware Sony and Samsungs QD screens were not due till end of 2022 or early 2023, they appear to be in a race to launch first it appears.

Was the point I was hoping, but you can see the gaming monitor business side of things pretty much ignores the TV side of things and they can then go charge whatever price they want. There is an Asus rog 43" 4K VA panel which cost 1.3k currently on ocuk while an 48" LG OLED panel cost 1K, really the 43" 4K panel should be £600-700 when you compare it to the OLED competition, but they still don't see it as competition.

People are naturally going to get whatever offers them the best bang for buck, its probably going to still be the 42" or 48" OLED screens be it last years models or this years around 1k to 1.3K guesstimate price.

I wouldn't be surprised. It's going to be a flagship model.

I don't even think they'll mass produce these, so 2K would be on the low end of what I'd expect them to charge.

No point in waiting then. It wont be below 2k. I've heard rumors of £3499 list price. Even with common 20% code it still £2800

Making decisions based on rumours? I've heard price ranges from 1500-5000. It doesn't mean anything right now.

It's OLED more so the QD part, Ultrawide, HDR, 175Hz and 99.3% DCI-P3, those are key words for their marketing. It's not going to be cheap.

Almost 100% DCI-P3, you're practically getting a screen what you get in IMAX but it's OLED. They wont gimp the price with that.

To clearify, this is for the Samsung version, and not Dell with G-SYNC ultimate.

Double that for more realistic estimate.
Just remember what Samsung has been charging for their top LCD monitors.
(or Asus etc...)

Good point. I think I will wait for the new 4000 Nvidia GPUs to drop at the end of the year before upgrading as I doubt I could hit the max refresh rate with a 3090 on most new games I play.
