I wonder what they'll do for replacements 3 years after these are discontinued.
It seems that even with minor burn-in, they don't even ask questions and just replace them, so it seems a no brainer to use it towards the end of the warranty.
Got my replacement last weekend, was a DW rather than DWFSo out of sheer will power, I whatsapped Dell and now have a new QD-OLED on the way. No ideas if it's another DW or a DWF, I suspect DWF because the DW is end of line.
Took about 10 mins and a few photos all through whatsapp.
This is why I will stick with Dell/Alienware.
HDR works just fine for me on my DWF in Cyberpunk.
I'm on Windows 11 though, I've heard there are some HDR problems with Windows 10.
Have you used Windows HDR Calibration tool to create and apply a HDR specific profile that tells Windows what the monitor is capable of in HDR mode? Also make sure no other colour profiles are activated or visible in Windows Colour options screen for the display.
SHould look something like this (though ignore my 10 bits colour 144Hz bits)
Windows 10's HDR isn't really great anyway though too so keep that in mind. Neither is 11's but it's better.
Cyberpunk hdr isn't as great as it could be. The highlights are there but blacks are raised compared to sdr. I also find the highlights are out of sync with the setting. I have to set 790 luminance in the game setting to achieve 1000 in game.I tried to set my monitor up properly. I enabled HDR 1000, turned on auto hdr and hdr on in Windows 10. (I have latest firmware).
In cyberpunk I enabled hdr10 pq (I think) but the screen is looking very washed out. Am I being an idiot here or is non HDR better for this game?
Wait, so flickering is worse on dwf? Its already quite bad on dw...(WAY worse than on Acer X35 for example)
I still have an affinity to the ‘DW’ due to the other benefits I mentioned on the first page of this thread – related to the G-SYNC module (lower VRR flickering, seamless operation throughout VRR range and less ‘micro stuttering’).
According to pcmonitors.info, yup:
