World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Exactly.

It's very weird how 21.9 gets so much hate, you don't see many, if any at all going into 16.9 display based threads giving of about the downfalls of their AR....

I figure it's just jealousy... You know how like, when someone has a 2002 BMW 320 and their workmate has a 2019 M3 - all the dude with the old beemer will do is complain about how the old m3 was better and he likes the E46 models more than the F30s so anyone buying the newer m3 is stupid etc. That's how the haters sound to me :P

Oled with an anti-glare coating...yuk.

Not 100% sure but is it not quite glossy/similar to tvs? I don't think it is a matte finish, at least the videos from Vince, it didn't look it.

I'm not bothered either way, as long as the matte finish isn't grainy and is smooth like lgs finish.

Anti reflection, hopefully it's similar to to Samsung's great glossy Neo TV screens.

Is there a reason there's no hdmi 2.1 on that alienware??

Probably cost saving. The assumption will be PC users will use displayport anyway, so any hdmi connections will be from consoles or something which won't need 2.1 anyway (the max a console could output would be 1080p120 I think? Unless 1440 is now an option, but 2.0 can still do 1440p120)

hdtv also reckons the 55" QD-OLED from Sony should be $3000 when it comes this fall.

Fuller preview here from flatpanel site on QD-OLED:

It is interesting they said once the A90j(plain OLED) and QD-OLED are calibrated there is not much difference between them. Will be better to wait for more proper testing though.

Hopefully overclockers have these up for pre-order soon as they look great for the price! Hopefully there will be enough stock in as well and there are no scalpers.

I was hoping to see the days any OLED screens would be incorporating Moth Eye tech as a standard.

Yet this is from 9 years ago.

I just did a lighting upgrade, now we have biased lighting and it's brilliant no more reflections on screen

Bias lighting is very nice, especially when watching some spectacular movies but I don't always like to sit in a very dark room with little lighting. Sometimes the very dominant contrast-y picture hurts my eyes in low lighting.

Computer displays I always have somewhat normal lighting on for the eyes. Though thankfully the way my rooms and lighting is set out I don't really see reflections but it still would have been nice to have Moth Eye technology on the panels for high end sets. In case you were to move lamps around.
