***World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor***

I re-specced my fire mage to frost last week and I'm pretty bored with it already. Both DPS and survivorbility is pretty low.

MW

I started out as fire, switched to arcane when I found how low fireball hits for (2k) and after trying arcane did the inevitable switch to frost, which I've always hated but have tolerated for levelling. However it's so far behind the DK I've lost heart. The DK could literally smash down 7-8 mobs AT ONCE with cooldowns in dps spec. The Mage can't kill two without lots of tedious micromanagement. This micromanagement used to be fun when you were doing something other classes couldn't do, but now it's just extra effort and you still can't keep up.

I boosted the Mage from 81 to 90 (yeah yeah I wanted to play it there and then) but now it seems like a waste.

Most of the DPS classes have taken a hit, Im an ehancement shaman and I am was struggling with DPS, often could barely scrape more than 5K, with some heroic gear I am just getting upto 8K now.

Hoping with some patches DPS will start to improve, but gearing is a lot more important now, have a look at Icey Veins to see what rotation, talents etc you should be using.

Also if not, give Ask Mr Robot a try, it might tell you what gear you have that you should be wearing etc

Kimbie

I tried using Mr Robot but I am not sure how it works!

Dunno whether to main my Paladin or Rogue this expansion xD

Hybrids are so good to have as a main... with every spec on one character, but Rogue is so coooool.

Depends on what you are looking for, I have never tried the rouge PvE as I thought it would be boring but PvP is full of them! Also Paladins are suppose to be quite op in PvP. But havent tried mine, he is next the warlock is my main for this one :P

Mage DPS is fairly poor atm, Frost is okay, I think Arcane is fairly close to Frost damage wise now with the hotfixes.

I manage to top meters on a lot of fights but as frost it's pure RNG, we rely so much on procs, they really need to buff frostbolt damage but then they would need to nerf the damage elsewhere I think.

I started off as Arcane, moved to fire for Lich King and then to frost for the first time. I'm currently struggling to average 12k dps, but I don't really have the alts to change, I have a 70 hunter from TBC and 70 dk from Lich King. I might have to use my free lvl 90

Just food for thought but is it not just that we are so used to face rolling everything that we now consider DPS as crap if you are undergeared? I genuinely haven't looked at rankings or any theory crafting behind this as I have no access to this at work?

I lvled my warrior in prot and wouldn't say I face rolled everything but I didn't struggle either. My Warrior didn't replace a fair bit of my gear till 95+

What was the gear difference between your DK and your Mage (I know your mage was boosted so basic gear)

Does anyone have any tips for getting to 2,000 resources for my garrison level three upgrade?

Download a mod which shows where the rares are on the map and the same for hidden treasure(or you can buy the treasure maps if you've completed the main quests in that zone). Then go around killing rares and treasure hunting.

Best thing you can do is start with the lumber mill to get the extra resources by chopping trees, plus send your followers on all the missions to get resources as well.

Will do, thanks. :)

I would say hunters survivability is rather decent always have been if you can play them. Hunters dps is a vast improvement and mm feels slightly more like it used to be pre cata. I stopped playing hunter main for the first time in MoP. Felt that they were broken in so many ways.

As for WoD the game generally so far feels better and glad I cam back after to try it as was going to pass it up.

I've actually been playing glass cannon MM (lonewolf spec) in PvP and its great fun. I can blow up most before they can get near me.

SV is currently the worst spec for PVE and PVP so I've been reading. But SV has the CC for arena.

Is there a hunter spec that's viable without a pet? I seem to recall Blizzard saying that such a thing was in their plans. I'm not a fan of pets but quite like the idea of shooting things from afar without one.
