***World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor***

They struggle to balance the 11 they have now, throwing another into the mix is suicidal. Besides, Demon Hunter doesn't fit into the rumored South Seas content we're getting next.

Not that it was "better" in the old days. I think most people just hold on to the fact they had a lot of fun with it back when they could put a lot more time into it. Now they can't, it just doesn't seem the same game.

This, it was released nearly 11 years ago, back then I was single and had all the time in the world to play it Now I've been with the g/f 10 years, got a house, dogs & other things that would stop me spending hours playing it (if I still did that is).

Is it worth resubbing for the PvP? Bit bored game wise as of late, remember having a fun time playing the PvP ages ago and streams make it look interesting

No, no and no.

I resubbed last month for the new patch but I was bored after the first day.

PvP has been in a bad state for a while and it's not getting any better. BG's used to be fun but honestly I can't see the point in wait 20+ minutes for one game which will probably end up going a game mid way and loosing.

Confirmed expansion announcement at Gamescom, first time an expansion has been announced outside of a Blizzcon, but they've got more games now I suppose.

My god, WoW has been one amazing cash cow!

Not bashing people that play WoW, when i played during vanilla and TBC it was probably one of my favourite eras of gaming. Though WoW now just holds none of the "WOW" factor it had back then ( no pun intended ) . It just looks like additional raids & 1 or 2 gimmicky features per expansion.

Yep. This seems to be becoming a trend with EA / Activision though. WoW used to be immense, a proper grind fest. Remember spending hours upon hours grinding for rep to buy the latest shiny?

Now it's all just dumbed down so that anyone with a credit card can experience all the hardest content. No exclusivity any more unfortunately. This argument has raged on and on since Cataclysm though, and I can see both sides, but from my own point of view, I preferred having to work to see all the cool stuff. Made it worth while. Now you just press I and voila, end boss.

That's the kicker, there's no sense of satisfaction anymore.

Like the Paladin/Druid/Warlock mount quests. Or crafting Benediction after finally looting all parts then saving the village. Making that deadly run through the Burning Steps at low level to get to the next zone.

The resources/gold/items that the Garrison gives you is insane. I get enough gold from the followers to cover my sub for the month, and they're more successful at regularly bringing back epic items than I am in an LFR raid.

The garrison was a great idea, but it should have been a "guild home" - just something to bring in a small amount of bonus resources to assist guild members. Heck, maybe each player could have an instanced 'wing' where I could build my trade/bank/salvage hut of my choice, but the central part was a guild hangout.

And fix the damn tradeskills - I used to love crafting & gathering, it's just stupidly badly implemented in WoD :(

Yeah, it's been pretty much dumbed down to destruction. Struggling even to maintain interest in raiding which at least is still interesting, but other than that there's nothing really left to it.

Edit: And I still don't know exactly why we're on Draenor, 20 years in the past.

Agreed, i remember my first play through on a PvP realm. Leveling in Stranglethorn was a nightmare. Though at the same time, amazingly fun.

I recall the first time i completed SM and managed to win the roll for herrods shoulder. The sense of accomplishment was awesome! Same again, the first time i beat onyxia, it was a big deal. Seeing someone in T2 armor at the time was a really big deal. Waiting around for hours to gather your raid for MC / BWL was all part of the fun and what made it unique. Even though in the grand scheme of things i was a below average player in regards to items that i aquired.

Edit: And I still don't know exactly why we're on Draenor, 20 years in the past.

Reason: Bad story, planning and Metz on what seems to be drugs at the time when thinking about Garrosh.

Draenor was never the issue, it was the story and the crap around it. It didn't go down well at Blizzcon when the talked about it.

Whats peoples thoughts about another expansion so shortly after this one, I know they always talked about shorter times between expansions but this one had me leave game in the fastest time ever after coming back.

I'm also wonder if we will ever see a WC4 now, so much water under the bridge in the MMO that I would imagine that would be hard to write a story for it.

Not being elitist but it has lost it's sense of wonder.

I remember the first time seeing a grp of three/four people on horseback riding past where I was levelling thinking how cool that was. Grinding for ages to get my first purple, neck piece from a darkmoon faire handin.

Items are too easy to get hold of. You shouldn't be able to just do an hour of pvp in ashran and get a purple ilvl 700 item, or multiple 685 in lfr. Unless you're in a harder raid just make them blue quality. It might keep the 5 mans relevant. When Vanilla came out they were still run for aggggess before you out geared them.
Don't get me wrong lfr is great to be able to see the end content but it also takes away the need for a lot of people to do the more organised raids to see it. I know my guild folded months ago as the search for the next iteration of their gear just became boring.

Why does everyone expect to still get the same experience in this game as to when they first played it? It baffles me some of the things people complain about..

Because that's what we want and what we paid for? How does this baffle you? If you walked out your house one day and your luxury car suddenly turned into a Daewoo would you just shrug it off?
