***World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor***

I'd say just do the dailies on whatever professions you have, gems/enchants do sell okay but you can also run old content, if you can manage to do 25HC Cata raids then you can make 5k a week just from those.

Thursday is a make or brake day I think for the next quarters subs. If they take to long in getting it out they are going to see another massive hit in my opinion as people just give up waiting like in previous expansions.

If they do another CATA i.e. one year of a raid tier I can see people stopping their subs in droves. This being said I cant see the game ever dying as such, look at SWTOR. There is always some players that want to play the game, I just think that the bulk of subs have moved on from MMO's in general.

I firmly believe there isn't another king MMO coming any more, I think they have had their day for now. I still think the game was at its best in WOTLK, but thats just me.

Not surprised really. There's more discord now within the community than I've ever seen before.

I've recently hit gold cap, so I've got enough to pay for my subscription for the next 3+ years (US prices), but I definitely wouldn't be paying for it anymore.

I still 'pay' the old fashioned way.

Recently got back in to it while off University for the summer, enjoying playing through lower level content and levelling lots of new characters, have all the Heirlooms so that's a really nice addition.

I agree that the games 'high point' was with Wrath of the Lich King, while I enjoy the game more now (Better 'service' (less lag, better connections and servers), Better graphics, Fantastic sound still, Great little touches (Quest helper basically, stat comparison, et cetera)), it feels like a 'better' game but the age of cliché of 'it's too casual' is very true, I find the high level content far less rewarding, far too widespread and far too complicated (Garrisons, Daily quests, Raids, Mythic, Heroic, 25, 10, 5 man content, Guilds et cetra) while being a far 'simpler' play.

The new talent tree's, the lack of 'special' roles of classes/races/specs, the lack of rewarding end game, the totally mental collection of spread out PvP type thing actually detract in my opinion.

I'm ranting a little, so apologise.

I think if Blizzard want the game to increase in numbers rather than lose subscriptions; they should make the end game far more precise and concentrated.

While i agree the sub figures are a real kick in the knickers for Blizz WOW is far from being a "dead" game.

Until it stops turning a profit you just know activision will keep it goin, sure it might be on the downward spiral but that eventual crash is still a long way off.

Games like Hearthstone, Diablo, Starcraft, Hots and hopefully Overwatch will still keep the company profitable for the forseeable.

I do love how they ended their presentation with "Rocket Man" and attribute a lot of the losses to asian markets again.

Interested to see what they announce this week, if the leaks are accurate look slike its gonna be a Zandalari Troll / NE expansion "The Dark Prophet".

Agreed Sharpy this beast isn't dead by a long shot and Blizzard raking it in from Hearthstone by all accounts.

I do think the player base for the most part have moved on from MMO's, I like MMO's but even I cant stand more than 2-3 months after the expac hits.

Resubbed a week ago, picked up my mage after having not played it for a while. Went in to HFC and managed to pull decent DPS whilst not knowing a single tactic on heroic. I'm just a bit done with MMOs tbh. Might try out a few private servers as I don't want to pay for this game anymore.

WoW, nigh on half its player base lost in 6 months, that's pretty catastrophic by anyones reckoning - I do think the lanuch of WOD showed its not a dead game, but if Blizzard continue to treat its playerbase like morons then yeah, people will just unsub as they have had enough of the bait and switch. Time for them to deliver actual content not stupid fluff and pretend its content.

And shed of people play on private servers, after blizzard put th eprice up :p

Can we please have;

  • Character depth
  • Raiding Content
  • Focused PvE (5 mans, 10 mans)
  • Focused PvP
  • Professions
  • No more Garrisons (or major revamp)
  • Dailies
  • No more Lore fluff

To expand; I would like characters to have depth (new, old talent system) and more variety across class roles/talents.

More raiding content, do away with the Heroic/Mythic, have 10 man, 25 man and a 25 man hard core.

More 5 man instances, more 10 man instances that can be ran with 'random' groups. More variety in the 5 mans.

PvP needs streamlining. Battlegrounds, Arena and PvP armour.

Professions are broken, fix them please.

Garrisons remove a lot from 'playing', either majorly change them (location, more customisable, more of a meeting place) as they have replaced in part capital cities and the need to farm.

Dalies, gives players 'something to do' besides log in to raid / Garrison quests.

Lore... Lore has been completely 'ruined' or rather, just makes no sense at times so a return to not being stupid with lore would be nice... for example no time travel.

Also; it would be nice to have stat changes, maybe bring back resistances, et cetra.

The game needs to feel more like Vanilla, Wrath and the Burning Crusade than Panda, Cat, and Crusade.

Just off the top of my (tired) head.

Legacy servers would be amazing; Vanilla - updated character models, graphics (and little background changes, stat compare, quest tracking et cetera).

If they opened up legacy servers for Vanilla, TBC and Wrath they'd make an absolute killing. They'd have to price it cheaply to avoid losing out to private servers but it'd be the only "bug free" set of servers so would work wonders. I would happily pay for a Blizzard hosted WotLK realm.

To be honest, what are people (we) paying a subscription for anyway? The servers should be open to all existing subscribers / included in the subscription.

Vanilla content; update the character models, graphics options, use more modern small changes (quest helper, quests appearing on the map along with blue area markers, item comparison, bag options, et cetera, new guild system) but keep the content of the server Vanilla (and the classes/races) and update it on a time scale similar to what happened.

They would (in my opinion) bring a lot of players back to play through the old content and allow players whom missed out on it the first time round. Seriously, Alterac Valley used to be awesome ;) and 40 man Naxx was great.

How much is the new expansion going to differ from WoD though? It's been less than a year since the launch so I can't see the next one being to far away from what's currently on offer
