Yep have to agree with what you said, i saw it fri night with the missus and i didnt think it was too bad a movie. Some of the scenes were epic ie the ?Israel scene where they climb over the wall thanks to those muppets having a bit of a singalong.
Quite enjoyed the movie, even the missus enjoyed it and shes not a fan of zombie movies as a whole. Tbf i havent read the book so i wasnt expecting too much.
Don't bother with the premium for 3D. It makes no difference that I could see. Indeed the decreased colour perception may make several scenes less enjoyable. All IMO, naturally.
Also thought the same thing when the plane managed to take off from that ship. I said to myself, where did that take off from.
Thought the isreal scene was lame and definitely an attempt to bolster isreal, even had the flag waving in slow motion in one scene. I hate when stupid things cause issues in movies, like them making a noise singing. Such a stupid thing to do.
I thought it had a good pace overall but lack of gore and a bit unrealistic at times and annoying stupid plot choices. Like why was the stewardess going to the baggage section of the plane when they know the situation and why wouldn't she see a zombie behind the glass doors, especially when a dog is barking at the glass door. Although that plane scene was pretty cool.
I do much prefer fast zombies as slow zombies never seems very risky.
Overall pretty awful I thought, theirs a "join" in the film it made little to absolutely no sense, and the ending was just pure and total kack, the entire pacing building up to that, utter tripe.
Some brilliant scene in the first half, then they just wasted time for the rest.
Mediocre at best, and the zombies behaved more like Twilight vampires. Having read the book, I went into watching the film knowing I had to distance it from the story.
In my opinion it's a 'thriller' film that doesn't know what it wants to be, attempting to portray the humanity the book flawlessly covered whilst catering to a zombie theme, not sure it does either well.
It's the unstoppable, unending, unrelenting nature of the slow zombie hoard which makes them so scary and very risky to face. Sure, you can fend off one or maybe two, but they never stay just one or two for long.
World War Z - sort of enjoyed the book and we were looking forward to the film.
Saw it in 3D and whilst I enjoyed the acting by Brad Pitt I did not think that it was anything special, either in the content of the film, compared to the book, the visual eyecandy, a bit disappointing, or how it was all wrapped up in the last 20 mins or so.
How the heck did the zombie get in the toilet of the plane and remain quiet until the flight was almost over...? With the incubation period being about 12 seconds I do not know how, and if, it got infected on board or how it remained calm and quiet whilst all the people were just outside in the cabin...?
The "Wales" part of the film seemed strange and out of continuity with the rest of it.

I may have missed it or been half asleep but i was under the impression that the zombie was not in a toilet, but rather that lift thing that came from down bellow in the cargo hold, unless im thinking of another scene
Anyway i quite enjoyed the film and even with its flaws i would give it a 7/10

- Wow I do think that you are right.! I know that it might sound trivial but it did kinda bug me if it had been the toilet. I suppose the reason that I was being a little picky at that point is that I was not enjoying the film as much as I had hoped
Still, I'm looking forward to watching Pacific Rim soon, even sooner if my wife forgets that it is her choice next at the cinema, as she wants to watch the latest Sandra Bullock film - now I will be nit picking at that one.!
Well reading a bit about that scene I have gathered that the little rat dog is barking at the toilet door as he can hear the zombie, or smell it. Then when the stewardess opens the door carnage breaks lose. Not sure about the lift thing, although it would be good if true.
