X3:Terran Conflict has arrived

Hi all.

I played X3 Reunion a few years ago, but no longer have the discs. So I'm looking at the steam sale today; can anyone tell me what the difference is between having Terran Conflict + Reunion or just Terran Conflict on it's own?

If there's value in it I'll get X3 Gold, but if it doesn't make much practical difference I'll just get TC.

Cheers.

I've got billions of (legit) credits and hundreds of stations and ships of every class in my last xtc save. Is it worth starting again? I consider that I pretty much finished the original game but it got boring having so much of everything.

having reunion will make no difference to TC.
so unless u want to replay reunion, then u could just get TC

Started again. I felt Like I wasn't getting anywhere being in a ship which I couldn't fight in or trade efficiently in.

So yesterday morning I chose to start again as a humble trader. Wow, what a difference. Within a few hours I was able to buy another freighter to bring in double the monies. All I did was buy ore cheaply in Herron's Nebula and sell it in Atreus' Clouds and Rolk's Fate for insane profit.

I'm enjoying this game even more, especially now I'm on my way to building my own factories and fleet of freighters.

This game looks good, embarassingly I've never played it - is it similar to Elite back in the olden days? or Eve Online?

If I were to buy it which is the best package to go for? X Superbox?

Cheers fellas

Well I had never played it either up until last week. I had seen some pictures of Reunion years ago and thought "wow that looks boring" but I was also still an idiot teenager and since then my focus on games has changed from twitch style FPS to RPG/empire/city builders. I do still like playing FPS games but they don't hold my attention like they used to.

I guess If you like to slowly build up an army or trading empire from scratch then you might enjoy this. You could do anything you wanted in this game really. There is a bit of a learning curve though, so I've been using these forums as well as the egosoft forums as a knowledge database.

As for the best package, I have no idea. X3: Terran Conflict is stand alone so you don't need to know any back story in order to get into this.

Edit: you will need lots and lots of free time to play this game.

so tempted to buy it but i know just like reunion as soon as i start to get anywhere i will get bored and see the game as pointless.

wish it had a mini mmo online mode like freelancer did

Quick question. How do I get/make myself a HQ ?

I have a wheat farm, do I use that as my HQ or is it a specific building I need to buy ?.

I'll let you know in a bit as just about to play it, though I know you can't judge this until after a considerable amount of time invested.

Does anyone have any beginner tips / links? :)

I got the gold edition so not sure which to play first, Reunion or TC?
