Seriously reconsidering buying upgraded for this pc. I was going to leave xbox behind but after buying another NvMe drive at 100, new psu at 130, then a 3080. Getting this just makes sense. I'll miss the whole nodded community but the savings are unreal.

What kind of gpu power is the s or don't we know yet?
They are very very good prices.

Edit.

I'm actually not sure the series s us actually that good value. Lower spec gpu then the one x? Not for me.

Its not lower spec at all. Its still full next gen power just lower as it only needs to output games at 1440p. Looks like it will upscale to 4k for older games, eg back compat

It looks like that ugly black grill on the series S is because they've used a super big fan in there for the cooling - let's hope it's effective as generally........ bigger fan = slower speed = less noise!

What are the chances of Sony beating this/ £429?, or £448.00 just to be cheeky.

My bet is on Series X falling somewhere between PS5 and PS5 Digital in price. Always has been. Maybe £429 and £499? Will be very surprised if Sony can hit £399 or less with either variant. The people hoping for a £349 PS5 Digital are dreaming.

Can't get much cheekier than celebrating the 25th anniversary of PlayStation with a big Xbox announcement though :p

I'm still not convinced about all this "designed for 4K60" though. Third party developers are going to ignore all that, I predict all Ubi's offerings that are coming up - Far Cry 6, AC Valhalla and Watch Dog Legions - will still be 4K30. But I guess I can live with that.

Can see why all this is being announced now like some huge info dump, Sony are due to have a press announcement today...

Call me a crazy person but I picked up a used Panasonic P50GT60 1080p plasma last week to replace my cheapo 4K TV as my daily driver. Even without all the 'modern' HDR trinkets, I think games would look great on a Series S with it.

The All Access subscription for £21 which includes Game Pass and later EA Play is a brilliant offer. I might be tempted for forfeit my stance on physical media.
