Not really feeling Deathloop, don't feel any need to explore and just complete the main objectives which seem really shallow and short. Enemies are thick and gunplay is pretty bad. Maybe I'm getting old and hard to please but I've recently replayed Bioshock 1 and 2, they are ancient and apart from the graphics they are better in every way.

Forgot to mention I loved the Dishonered games too

Same here but I’ve just done the first full day and got a bit more freedom now. I’m intrigued by it so will stick with it. I think it was just overwhelming at the beginning as I didn’t have a clue what was going on and I typically don’t like games like that.

Deathloop is kind of interesting in how they've tried to port across some semblance of the DualSense haptics. I've never experienced the ever so light tip-taps of your footsteps on an Xbox controller before.

So, just upgraded to the series X in our household, but bit of an odd one with hdmi cec.
One console (old xbox one OG) never used to turn the TV on and off when turning the console on or off, after upgrading to the series x it works perfectly.
The 2nd console however used to work perfectly with the xbox , but on the series X the console turns the TV on - but not off.
However if I turn the TV off the console does turn off, have tried resetting TV, console, changing leads etc but still not working.
Not a major issue as I turn on using controller for both tv and series x and turn off using TV - but it bugs me it doesn't work ( I know first world problems !)
TV is an LG and have enabled simplink etc.
anyone else face a similar issue ?

Have you checked the settings on the Xbox? The option to turn the TV off is a separate checkbox IIRC.

If you have an xbox and gamepass please download vampire survivors which released on gp yesterday.

I thought I'd try it for 10 minutes, before I knew it 4 hours slipped by. It's so good.

Thanks for the recommendation! Like you, I wasn't expecting it to be much good but I was on it all night! Such a simple premise but highly addictive.

I managed to kill a reaper today by pure luck - I had a fully evolved lancet and the evolved pentagram. I was down to my last revive too.

That must have taken some doing! I managed to stay alive for 2.5 minutes at the end of the level and had 5 reapers chasing me. But I couldn't kill a single one of them.

Not entirely sure about the longevity of this now though. I've been on it for two solid days and nights and unlocked all the starting power ups. There are still plenty of evolutions to find but don't really see the point in continuing unless there's some kind of finality like killing "the vampire".

I was on Vampires all night again trying to explode some rolling bone enemy. It got to a massive size but time ran out before anything happened.

I think there’s only a couple more weapon evolutions for me to get now. Don’t know if there’s any additional characters, I’ll go and look that up.

Glad I kept going, I managed to do this last night with the evolved laurel. Definitely going to have to cheat a bit now and look up how to get the last 10 collectibles or so as I could be playing forever and never find things.

Evening all, my nephew wants a VR headset for Christmas. He has the XBOX One S, so previous gen.

I am not fully up to speed with VR. Could I get him the Meta Quest 2 that's currently on offer and that will allow him to play Xbox games using the headset?

There is no VR capability for the Xbox. Meta Quest 2 is a separate ecosystem with its own library of games. Three youngsters in my family have the Quest 2 and love it.

Is there a new xbox console coming out soon? I sold my ps5 to get the xbox (because of the gamepass) and ive been told today that there's a new xbox console coming out in 2023? Is this true? Is it worth waiting for?

I think it's 100% real that the new PS5 model will be out next year with the disc drive being an accessory that you need to purchase separately if you want that functionality.
