Most of my friends play on PS these days but the Xbox SX appeals more cos of flight sim.
Is the xbox controller pretty good? I like sound of haptics on the PS5 but have feeling it's a gimmick..

Would someone be kind enough to confirm if I sub to Gamepass Ultimate and set my sons Xbox to my home console. Would that now give access to the games I download via GPU to my son, including Xbox Live?
So he would have all the benefits, including being able to play online, on games like FIFA and Forza, while signed into his own account on the console? I'll be using GPU from my PC.

PS5 has the better controller IMO, it feels next gen and the haptic feedback is implemented very well. The Series X controller hasn't changed much since the 360 days.
You can't really go wrong with either system. If your buddies are mostly PS then you have to consider that heavily. There's aspects of both systems which I like.. therefore I have both.
Edit: Flight sim is very good and is the most impressive title I've ever seen on a console. MS do need to work harder on fixing bugs though. But yeah it's still an enjoyable experience to dip in and out of on the platform.

Xbox with GPU immediately gets you playing to endless number of games. PS5 does have the next gen controller but I don’t play my PS5 whereas I’ve been trying a game here and there on xbox. Currently playing Halo Infinite.
Went for the xbox as was good deal with 3 months GPU and a decent looking headset bundled in. Wonder if MS plan to release a more next gen controller one day?
I went for Xbox mainly for Flight Sim on TV really. I will still have a PS4 and tbh suspect I'll end up with a PS5 in few months too anyway.

The PS exclusives are phenomenal and the controller is truly next gen. The haptics aren’t just a gimmick.
The Xbox controller feels more comfortable to me plus you’ve got a stack of games on game pass. I still find myself playing the Xbox much more than the PS5. I pretty much only have the PS5 for the best exclusives.

It's a brilliant semi sim level WW2 FPS. Online only. Excellent on PC but I want to be able to play it on big TV and with surround sound, hence getting Xbox. Can play with you maybe if you buy it.
It's brilliant if you like that kind of game. Easily 120+ hrs in on xbox

Like other say, xbox controller is extremely comfortable and new one textures finish so a bit more trippy, but very much like the old one. Haven't used the ps5 controller as don't have a ps5, but one of my sons friends does and says its excellent..he mainly plays xsx as all his friends, my sons included, all have xbox's around here, and with gamepass, they tend to try out a fair few games. I found flight sim easier on xbox than PC.. on PC, I cant get the plane to go back to level flight after a turn for some reason..gone through settings but makes no difference

Sounds good! I'll check it out and let you know. I could do with some good gaming sessions with others from here rather than randoms.
I have tried it and it's so easy to wreck every pad player on big maps, even in Onyx rank. In CQC it's closer but the mouse still has a very clear advantage especially with scoping out corners, doing quick 180s, throwing grenades on the floor when running away, etc.
There is something weird with the mouse acceleration so you need different vertical and horizontal sensitivities but it's basically like using a mouse on any other PC game except most of your opponents are crippled by using a controller so you get to pretend that you're really good at the game

Surprised how short the power lead is on the Series X. It's caught me out after the length of the xbox one and power brick! It won't reach my extension sockets! Is it safe to run a single extension lead into a multi plug extension cord or I guess I need to find a longer figure 8 lead

It's fine, the Series X doesn't draw a lot of power, 160-200W.
