There may not be a defined notification option to tick in the app but it absolutely does send a notification for games leaving. It's something along the lines of these games are leaving and letting you know you can buy them at a discount while still in game pass. I received around the start of the month. I don't think they are purposely trying to hide anything. They clearly want you to purchase these games which I have done on a few occasions like Hades for example. It's also prominent in the gamepass app with the leaving soon column on the main page being higher than recently added or most popular.
Ok thanks, I guess I need to figure out why I not been getting any notifications then. I get them from other apps, whatsapp etc.

At last I'm getting a Xbox series x today. I have bought the gears series and elden ring, can anyone recommend me any other games, especially some not well known ones as I've probably got the big AAA games on my radar.

Do you have Game Pass ? If so have a look at A Plague Tale: Innocence, The Riftbreaker, The Forgotten City, Psychonauts 2, Scarlet Nexus, both Ori games and Outer Wilds. None of these are AAA ( AA at best ) and cover a variety of genres. Personally, I think the Xbox games library is better suited to people who like FPS games ( which isn't me, sadly ) - if that's your fancy you'll find plenty of choices.

Raised with xbox support why I am not getting notifications on the gamepass app, basically if I load the app after a few seconds it checks and finds them, but it doesnt check when screen is off.

Xbox series x arrived just over an hour ago, I finished setting it up and downloaded the updates. Just downloading a couple games and trying game pass for a £1 for a month that came with the console.
Very early impressions:
Heavy console, saw one in person didn't realise how heavy it is, has some serious hardware in it.
Loved the setting up over an app, very next gen.
Desktop looks pretty good and in 4k looks absolutely crisp.
It's making full use of my internet speed at 70mbs, which on the switch it never could for whatever reason.
Controller is very nice and I like the weight and it's grips round the back.
Only negative at this stage is I'm kinda shocked to see that an advertised 1T storage is actually 802gb, but I'm pretty sure that's kinda similar to my pc with some of the advertised storage not all there.

Looking forward to trying out some games, currently downloading elden ring which I bought and also midnight fight express off game pass.

As for gamepass once the month is over I'm not going to renew it as it would be wasted on me with my gaming time and also I think I'll keep jumping onto different games all the time and not giving them a chance. At least when I buy games I look into it and judge by reviews and purchase it with the intentions of completing it at my leisure.

If i don't use an app for a while my phone pops it in deep sleep so notifications stop working when the app isn't open. Maybe something like that?

The setting works on individual apps. On android go to settings>apps>app then check notifications are enabled.
I already checked that, it has all the permissions it asks for including notifications.

I also confirmed its not actually checking with the screen off so not a notifications been blocked issue as when I open the app it doesnt see any at first, but then a few seconds later after its checked the internet the bell icon shakes.

I think I am going to put the app on my second phone to see if it works any better.

Re the storage - you can use what’s left after the system software allocation. Agree it can feel a little misleading but it’s pretty much standard in both Series consoles and PS5.

I think series x reserves about 20% for system needs - which will include the operating system and quick resume.

One plus 6 (still need to unbox the one plus 8 pro I got to replace it), second is motorola g9 play.

one plus is known to have issues with killing background apps and stuff.

Ok I just put on the g9 play and set the GPU account as well, lets see what happens. :)

Ah I was going to say if it's samsung, there is a setting which puts apps into deep sleep and you have to manually stop it from doing it otherwise you'll never get a notification. Perhaps there is something similar on the One+?

There is but I turned it all off, at least what I can, I also put the app to not optimise for battery life.

Its on both phones now no notices on either at the moment.
