Yeah they patched it in a while back now.
I still have my latest as 2 days old (even when app is opened) so still waiting.
I guess there is some variance based on game library, wishlist etc?

Can see how its stretched out to 10 mins lol the old youtube problem, I skipped through it.
New dashboard coming next year. Can't say I like it that much. If you go to 3:20 in the video somebody had made a mock-up of a different dashboard and it's loads better than the MS one
I have to say the minimalist design is by far the best. PS5 went minimalist but then bizarrely ditched themes which would be the reason to go that way. Xbox it seems supports custom backgrounds, so they should go minimalist, on ythe main dash, no need to on the xbox pop in menu, but on tha main dash go with the compressed bottom row only, whilst making sure is always a quick prominent way to get to menu, and my games and apps.
Sadly though I feel their UI design team is under pressure about getting things noticed and engagement up on content, hence the modern designs they pick.
I do think the new design is better than the current though mainly because they have made settings easier to get to.
Also kind of shows as well that alpha skip ahead is really the only proper testing channel, beta and below are all just public pre release for the most part but affect how far ahead you get before the public.
i'm on the insider beta the new dashbaord is ok ish it needs tweaking though lots of glitches lots of people complaining of bugs and install loops when getting the new dashboard beta
i had that and i had to do a factory reset before it would install and even now its still very unstable hopefully it'll get better as we go through the builds.

Was only thinking about this the other day. Being a user of both a Series X and PS5 - I just feel happier in the PS5 dashboard. Can’t say I hate the current Xbox dashboard, but honestly I feel the ideas for the new design in that video a few posts back are a step backwards.
Horses for courses, but for me the PS5, so far, has been the better of the next gen offerings in terms of general use. For me, at least, it’s felt more intuitive, practical and friendly. I feel lucky to own both consoles but overall the Xbox experience this gen feels a few steps behind.

I am on beta but not on new dashboard, I assumed it was alpha skip ahead only, I guess not then, and maybe they just picked random and not all testers on the channel.
Xbox Series X|S is practically available everywhere now, at least online.
there are subsets within each different beta some people get it a lot earlier others are left waiting i have no idea how they decide who gets it when etc. Its still very buggy some apps don't work some games crash
its a beta and i don't think the dashbaord will be out until early next year for general release
rewards are a major problem atm lots of people complaining they are going to be missing out on long held streaks myself included hopefully it will be resolved.

Another video showing what happens when you scroll down, its netflix style now, pushing new content in your face, also customised pins now seem removed according to reddit, thats a feature I use.
You sure you on the beta channel not alpha? Usually beta channel doesnt have stuff thats experimental as it gets it after its fixed in place as a feature.

for me its buggy the initial installation was hopeless and had to do a reset to get it downloaded.
the daashboard itself is ok ish they are trying to ps5 the xbox x if that makes sense when i first put the xbox x on it takes a good few minutes to settle down and not freeze i quite like it but others on the forums don't
i don't see this as the finished product i think we could see major tweaks by the time its available for general release.
problems so far i've encountered are
curated stuff doesn't work its just blank its a known problem according to feedback
freezing usually this settles down after afew minutes
jump back in or recent games isn't 100% i usually play a certain game to wind down after work and thats never appeared in my recent log
overall is it better than the previous one imo yes once all the bugs are dealt with but its not getting a lot of love on some of the forums
