Unfortunately cross play is enabled by default with BF2042. So unless you specifically turn it off then any xbox players by default will be playing in servers with PC and PlayStation players.

This means when you disable cross play in the options, you'll only be matched with other people who have manually disabled the option. A lot probably don't even know it's an option unfortunately.

It should have been disabled by default really, or limted to cross play with PlayStation players only.

P.s. @unwashed potato! Xbox series X is 128 players too

@unwashed potato!

Not sure sure about that, I've been able to play games fine up until last night and it plays great on series X and has 128 player Conquest.

I'm an ex pc player and played all the previous battlefield games on pc and I don't mind playing it with a pad on Xbox at all

Like I say, Insurgency is the same, it's not just battlefield

I liked it but the 'humour' started to grate after a while even with turning the talk less option down. Will probs plod on through over a long span. Looks horrid on PC, blurry etc.

More stuff on "leaving soon", feels like constant content is leaving, is it still the case 3rd party games never come back to game pass once they gone?
Yeah, I never did get around to trying Scarlet Nexus. Perhaps I should have a quick look before it disappears then I can consider buying it on sale at some point in the future if I like it. Similar thing happened to me with Plague Tale : Innocence - I had put off playing it for ages thinking it wouldn't be leaving Game Pass any time soon , then suddenly it was pulled with 2 weeks notice just prior to Plague Tale : Requiem's launch. Thankfully i remembered I had claimed it as a "free" game as part of the Playstation Plus subscription during the pandemic so played it on my PS5.

I wish Game Pass would give more notice as to which games are leaving ... can't think of any reason why that isn't possible.

Whilst it’s never really affected me, it would be useful to know which games I need to prioritise playing. Most games are on there for a while at least and some eventually return.

To me the best way would be, they keep everything listed from publishers who are signed up, and they are paid normal retail price for the game every time someone plays at least a couple of hours or something, its kind of the best of both worlds for everyone. But I expect the publishers like the lump sum payments so we got this temporary system, also when I checked leaving soon on the console its usually a month's notice or less for me. When I play a RPG I tend to be in it for multiple months. I do everything within the game, not just rushing to end. Then is NG+ as well.

I noticed when I signed up and for short period after they were adding JRPGS now it feels like junk is replacing them.

I felt the same. However it wasn’t the humour / constant dialogue that made me stop playing but a game breaking bug on the 2nd boss where he completely falls out of the map and doesn't come back.

So I have put it down and might revisit this at some point once it’s been properly fixed.

What are the best settings for the series s on a 4k tv? (not 120hz), do I leave auto-detect (recommended) on in the general > video fidelity & overscan settings option?

And some recommendations for couch co-op/multiplayer games would be great too!

Is there a go to (or several) places to order/pre-order XBSX games? My daughter is hell bent on getting the new Hogwarts Legacy but I'm seeing prices that are eye watering (£75).
