Is there a go to (or several) places to order/pre-order XBSX games? My daughter is hell bent on getting the new Hogwarts Legacy but I'm seeing prices that are eye watering (£75).
I usually use cdkeys, £62.49 at the moment. The prices do fluctuate allot though, maybe just keep a check to see if it drops, although closer to release the price will probably only go one way.

I've seen on another forum the controllers aren't rechargeable unless you I buy another play and charge kit?

Really? We're genuinely still using batteries in (almost) 2023?

Yeah it's a bit annoying but I just personally bought some good rechargeable batteries and use them instead of dedicated xbox stuff

Yep. Though my batteries last a week or more as opposed to my PS5 that needs recharging every five hours.

Hope this is the right forum for my question.

I did have a quick look at the MS and Xbox sites but I get easily confused.

Anyway, My old Xbox one is being used by my lad, he is using my account profile to play his small selection of games in his bedroom. Yesterday I got the new X series for the living room. I have made this into the home console and also named it Living room xbox. Only myself has a gamertag/account. The wife and my lad want one now so they can have their own profiles and save games etc. Can this be done on the console itself and will it require an email address and other information? Will they be able to play online with other family who have xboxes?

They will need to create accounts with email addresses yes, you can add to Microsoft family to add some restrictions to what they can do. Once signed in they should be able to use your entire games library, some games will require you to be logged into the console but not the actual game. They can play online and have their own friends list etc.

thank you. I will set up some emails for them. I have read and I hope read it right, my lad has a save game under my profile for lego city game, am I right in reading that his save can be transferred to his new account I will set up.

No idea about the save game transfer sorry.

No, you cant transfer a save game from one profile to another

Granted it's sometimes terrible but all of a sudden my SX won't trigger auto HDR. It wasn't triggering normal HDR either earlier but I reset it and then that worked but the auto HDR won't work at all. Strange as it all worked fine before and nothing has changed.

Edit. Forgot it's not the same as the PS5 and is title specific.

Ok I am having trouble with this xbox gamertag/profile thing for my kid. I set an gmail email address for him and went onto the xbox site to create a profile/tag. all good. However I had to use my mobile number to activate/get codes etc to allow him to have a profile. I got to the sign in page on the xbox to get him on the home one but it says it cant sign in as I am already signed in. I just dont get it.

I did the MS family thing and added him but that didnt help. Why has everything got so bloated and confusing these days. Back in the Red ring of death days it was simple. Create tag, sign in and off you go,

Just use Outlook logins, don't think MS likes Gmail. >,<

I thought I got rid of an issue where my Xbox wouldn't start up. Would just give a black screen and had to soft reset (hold button) in the hope it would boot, which it would do between 1-3 attempts.

Started happening again today. Once on it runs fine for hours.

Last time I'd booked in a warranty repair, but an update happened and it stopped the very night I booked it in. So we never posted it.

Very odd.

What keyboard and mouse are you all using and is there a reliable list of supported games please?

Weighing up options of going back to PC or keeping the Xbox, leaning to the latter at the moment due to cost

I did use a Logitech G series Mouse and Keyboard with zero issues but tbh, I much prefer controller these days. I may use it when age of empires etc come out. All the big FPS games support it these days

Will be rocking a Series X by the end of next week. I was looking around quidco for cashback offers before I buy, only to remember I had £370 waiting to be spent. Currys offer an 8% boost for Quidco Premium members if you take a gift card, so within 48 hours I should have a gift card for Currys worth just over £400 waiting.

Heading away for a week on Saturday so hoping to collect on my way home next Saturday:smashin:

Hoping to sell my One X for £140 or so and I'll be doing the GPU upgrade for £1 having already bought but not yet claimed the 3x 12 months XBL gold. All in, it'll 'cost' me around £40 for a Series X and 3 years of GPU
:D

But I think I'll have to have a look at some new TV's. Currently on an LED 4k LG from around 6 years ago.

I was also browsing classifieds for some new controllers ready for when the Series X arrives rather than the bland black ones, and then I stumbled upon the Design Lab. My logic was if I can order myself a new controller for £70 (Design lab), but sell the controller that comes with the Xbox as never used, hopefully I can get £30 for it? Therefore, a design lab would only be £40. So I tried a few sets of themes before I finally settled on a design based on the colours of the Miami Dolphins. Didn't go for Elite as A) expensive!!! and B) not many choices for colours for the main body. 3-4 Weeks for delivery but I will report here once it arrives.

Until it arrives I'll be using my One X controller (Which actually arrived with my original Xbox one 8 years ago) until the Design Lab one arrives.
