Showcase/Direct thingy confirmed for January 25th. Redfall, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Elder Scrolls Online are the games to be discussed (although there might be more). Starfield will have its own in-depth presentation separately.

Xbox Series X collected today from Currys; with the £407 gift card it cost me £42 all in. A Christmas gift card from my grandparents has bought me a new play and charge kit and the new controller that came with the X is up for sale on gumtree. Just going to use my One X controller until my Design lab controller (a few posts above) arrives.

:D Talk about "all change!"

Anyone know if we are still eligible for 2 year EU warranties, or did we lose that with Brexit?

My Elite 2 controller has stopped charging (still works plugged in) and it's supposedly out of the 1 year warranty that MS provides.

It's only 16 months old.

I am thinking of buying an Elite 2 controller ( and possibly customising it via the design lab ) but the numerous problems including stick drift that I keep reading about give me pause. Anyone else happy with their Elite 2 ? Do you think the issues are over-reported or genuine ? What is the warranty situation like from Microsoft, and is it any different if you use the design lab ? Can you buy an extended warranty ?

Hoping someone will be able to confirm this for me..
Looking to buy an xbox CD key and it says region locked to Argentina.

I've bought game pass and other games before this way, however I don't remember seeing it say "can only be redeemed and played in that region". The redeem part is fine, but once redeemed, can I play the game while not in Argentina?

Unless they've changed something and not said anything, yes you can. I often purchase games from Argentina and then use a VPN to redeem the code on my phone after which it works straight away from my xbox.

So, Series X collected over the weekend and have now installed most of my games. I'm at 98% HDD Usage which isn't ideal as I did my 3 years gold and then £1 GPU upgrade yesterday (expires January 2026 <3) I'm gonna grab an external HDD/SSD to store non-Optimised for Series S/X games and then down the road one of the specialised expansion cards.

Are people using HDD's or an SSD and could anyone make some suggestions? I've done a quick google but looking for more advice :D

Also my Design lab controller is on it's way and should be delivered by next Wednesday! I think I'm a little too excited!

I'm just using the Seagate 1Tb SSD expansion card ... it's enough for me. When you first get Games Pass there is a temptation to download everything you think you might like. But that feeling quickly passed for me when I tried some of it out and didn't enjoy it ( Halo Infinite, GoW series ). Really, any external SSD/HDD should suffice for non Series X/S optimised titles ... most of what I play is optimised, though.

I'm sure that feeling will pass, but all I've installed so far is the games I often play, and I'm already full!

Depends what the games are, I guess. I love Forza, and both 4 & 5 take up a chunk of hard drive space. Stuff like CoD, Gears of War 5, Warzone, Flight Sim etc are the same. So yes, the 802 Gb of storage space can disappear quick depending on the games you play regularly.

Forza Horizon 3,4,5 plus DLC's. Forza Motorsport 7, Red Dead 1+2 although i could get rid of 1. GTA V I've started playing again

Bluetooth headset and discord on phone/xbox app is the way to go these days and much cheaper/more versatile as can be used if playing with any one else on a different system, if you move to pc etc. That's my advice.

I've been doing this recently with my Airpods Pro and then Google Pixel Buds(noise cancellation obviously off) and I've found both to be pretty comfortable! Only issue is battery life if you're having a long session.

Edit; What I actually came here to say. Managed to win a 2Tb Samsung T7 SSD on Ebay this morning (£140 all in) which will be used to house my non-optimised for Series S/X Games on my series X. I could've got one for far cheaper or even just gone for HDD but I'm expecting to have this console for years, and I've got Game Pass for 3 years so I have no doubt I'll get my money's worth.
Design Lab controller has arrived at Stansted and is expected to arrive by Wednesday; play and charge kit needs collecting from the post office.

Also managed to sell my unopened Series X controller this morning on Facebook marketplace for £35 which I'm pretty happy with. One X has now been reset and as soon as my Design Lab controller arrives that will go up for sale, too! In a perfect world I'd get somewhere around £140 for it
