Xperia Z1 Compact... finally the holy grail for "normal sized" phone enthusiasts?

I'm hoping to pick one of these up on Friday. My previous contract ended in August and originally I held out for the new iPhones but they didnt really appeal.

Really fancied a Z1 primarily because of the camera multi shot feature but size put me off so once I found out about this I knew what I would be picking up next.

Other half gets opportunity to buy handsets outright for great prices so fingers crossed this is included in the March offers if not I'll just buy it handset only from whoever has it cheapest at the time.

Got one of these for the GF one thing that's annoying me is the constant "power management" tips, how do i get rid of them getting a daft amount of them each day.

Got mine yesterday, love it coming from an iPhone 4s this phone destroys it in every regard just need some decent wallpapers etc to customise to how I want, feel of phone is superb screen awesome though still have my film on. Also like the battery saving stuff e.g. Stamina mode

Weird how slow Angry Birds launched in your test Andy. Maybe it was installed on the SD card rather than on-board memory?

Also, not quite fair on the Moto G being compared to phones literally three times its price, don';t you think? :p

There was no SD Card in the Z1 Compact... :)

I would have said the Moto G comes across well in the test, given that yes, it is so cheap.

Oh, in terms of bang for the buck the Moto G might be the best phone in the world, no doubt! :p Was just thinking you missed an opportunity given that the Moto X is around the same price bracked as the N5 and the Z1c.

Okay really weird but does any one else have this issue with camera before you take it whatever your looking at appears fuzzy etc but when taken the picture comes out fine :s

My contract ends next month and I had a call today asking about a renewal. The guy asked me what phones I was interested in, I said I had no idea as I hadn't really thought about it and I'm a bit out of the loop as far as phones are concerned.

I had a quick look at phones currently on the market as well as upcoming models and this phone seems to be the one best suited to me as it's fast and no bigger than my current One S. How are owners of this phone finding it? The main concern for me is that its reliable, I haven't owned a Sony phone in a long time.

Read the thread first and then ask some relevant questions?

Well I've read through the thread...... I was planning on getting the black variant, so hopefully I will avoid any bleeding from the flash. The poor image quality in low light wasn't picked up in the reviews I read but I'm not massively concerned about it. I couldn't see any mention of common hardware faults or increased wear on any part of the phone which was my main concern.

I guess there are no questions :p

The image quality in low light if you use manual mode is fine.

It's only on superior auto does it get over processed.

It's fixable with software, certain of it.

The low light condition shots arent much of an issue, I think most reviews pick them up just because other phones have managed to fix it with their cameras.

The phone is a great phone and I love it. I upgraded from a Galaxy S2 and would recommend the Z1c to anyone after a smaller smartphone

That's generally my opinion of the Z1c as well - if you want a high end phone with a screen under 5", it's your only choice. I do have a couple of minor issues with it, specifically the lack of Qi charging and the fact that it won't fit in the charging dock with a case on, but otherwise it's perfect.

Lack of Qi charging is sadly a complete beeyatch.
