1) Do you have to request that the seller puts down a lower price and/or gift on the invoice to try and not get hammered on the import duty (or does he do it automatically)?

2) Does any one have much backlight bleed?

3) How are these catleaps for FPS games - much input lag / response times bad? My current monitor is a 23" LG e-IPS (not to be confused with E-IPS) and is supposed to be 6ms but it is probably a bit more than that in real life. If the catleap has similar response time then i can live with that.

Come on guys talk me out of it. :D

1) Not sure. I bought mine from dream-seller. It was labelled as $100. I am sure someone will come and answer this question.

2) I havent noticed any back light bleed. Others have mentioned they notice a little but I am guessing this is subjective.

3) I have played BF3 almost every night since mine arrived and it's awesome! I haven't noticed any ghosting. I am so glad I jumped on the band wagon!!

I notice you have an Nvidia card which is handy, you can set adaptive v-sync to eliminate any tearing too without a performance hit :)

I finally got my Achieva Q270 Lite, costed me £215 didn't have no pay custom fee.

There's 2 dead pixels in the top left corner, hardly noticeable.

The monitor can only oc to 67hz, can't complain for £215 :) I paid £180 for my Dell U2311h 6 months ago.

I'm well over the moon, can't wait to fire up BF3 late tongiht.

btw is there a easy way to OC it or to see what it can do?

Its funny but the stand is the thing I like most about my monitor - I do have it wierdly balanced on some boxes thou (got to be ergonomic :)

Still not used to this glossy screen; I figured out that I like the screen in movies/games/ but websites and documents I like my old TN matte ... maybe I should hook em both up (then I need a new desk) ... ho hum

ahh spoke too soon; found a stuck pixel - hmm see if I can do something about it.

I have a Hazro and haven't gone looking for dead pixels but I've never noticed one. They are tiny and I think you need quite a few together to really notice. The price on these looks really great. Good to see more people on >1080p, you can't go back after this res and size :)

Picked mine up from DHL leeds today and just finished setting it up.
LOL, my wife confused it for a new telly and started having a go at me! :)

In terms of picture quality its very similar to my HP ZR24W but obviously with all the extra pixel space - I'm impressed!. I paid extra for a pixel quality checked one, and thankfully it paid off - no dead pixels, no evident light bleed either!

Only two things to note:
A)- Stand is wonky - lean to the right ever so slightly but easily resolvable
B)- No BIOS screen! eeeek! - It only shows up once the PC starts booting windows, so that might be a bit of a problem with my 7970 lol! - Think its something specific to do with Dual-DVI and ATI cards as nvidia cards don't have this problem (according to other research I've done).

In terms of was it worth it - HELL YEAH! - £300 all in for a pixel perfect 27" 1440p monitor was well worth it

Pics: (clickable thumbs)

You can see the extra pixel space I have over my previous 1920x1200 HPZR24W with the corsair background ;)
Need to try some BF3 - finally something to tax my 7970! :)

wierd - not sure if its because I've got a Z68 motherboard with built-in graphics which might be kicking in before the 7970 - I'll try disabling it in BIOS and see if that makes a difference.

Oh and btw - anyone thinking of getting this to use with Z68 internal graphics - it didn't seem to work for me.

Has anyone been asking for the seller to put a lower price on the invoice or does the seller automatically do it?

After seeing those pics Zoomee I have made my mind up - I want one (but I dont want to see a scary child in the reflection like on zoomee's :D)

Hmm I have a Z68 with 7970... Hope there is a way to get the bios to show as I don't really want to keep a screen to view the bios when needed...

Is the PCbank the same screen just different case as the catleap ? as mine with pixel perfect was only £226 inc....?

Think they are all the same panels mate, I need to look into the non showing bios tbh as I havn't had much time to play! - kids are sleeping downstairs 2nite so I don't get to mess with the PC :( :( - will report back tommorow.

Aren't 79xx series slightly different to the 78xx series?

You will have to forgive me but I have never bought anything from overseas but I thought that the box would have an invoice attached which customs would look at and charge the 20% VAT. Now you say that the customer has to declare to customs how much they paid for the item, how does this happen - won't they want to see a receipt/invoice?

EDIT: edited ;)
I have done a bit of research now so I know what to ask for when I buy. Just noticed on another forum that Yamakasi are bringing out another model which I think looks a bit nicer than the catleap and they are saying it will be a 'gamers monitor!'.
I just can't bring myself to click that buy it now button.

i have ordered a few low-value items from the far east and they have all had a green postal form/sticker on them, with a box where the approximate value is written

Customs has never actually opened any of my packages, i think they just go by what is written on the shipping label (unless it is clear the value is different to what is stated)
