Looks like a great monitor but the shiny glossy reflections would annoy me. Do these only come with the glossy finish?

The reflections are quite bad but the quality of the picture more than makes up for it. You kind of focus through the reflections after a while.

The bios displays fine on this screen.

Skyrim will not load at 1440p it just crashes to desktop, even re-downloaded and still nothing, will have to have a look for a fix..?

Well, I went and clicked on the buy it now button and have ordered a catleap from the big crafty cloth people for 220. I will have a nervous wait now hoping it gets here in one piece and hoping it fires up (is that a bad choice of words) when switched on.

I am not going to tell my girlfriend I have bought a £220 monitor, maybe she won't realise my monitor has got a bit bigger. :D

I know I can go through this whole thread again but to save me a bit of time can some one tell me how you get the tracking details for your parcel. Do you get an e-mail or is it put into your account details on the auction site as i just noticed a space for a tracking number (but how would you know who to track with).

Lol, I can't believe how excited I feel and I am 37 years old and feel like Sanity claus is on his way.

:D

I have the Hazro but the same will apply to all these 27" glossy IPS screens. They are quite reflective but nowhere near as bad as you would think. As Moogley said, after a while you get used to it and sort of look 'through' the reflection so it doesn't bother you so much.

On my old matte TN screen any direct light behind would cause a horrible white glare 'splodge' on the screen that you couldn't see anything through. I much prefer the glossy reflections to the opaque matte glare.

Mine from big clothy just appeared on the auction listing - he didn't e-mail it to me.

My spare bedroom/home office is fairly dark with no real daylight coming into it. As a result would you recommend a glossy screen or one without?

What are the advantages of a glossy screen?

I work with a room full of graphic designers and they all hate their glossy reflective iMac screens. They've been using them for years and each still swear by the matt type. Some have even made hoods out of black card to help reduce glare and reflection. Before I considered this, I thought they looked great and I was all set on buying one.. now I'm not so sure..

Wikipedia - "In controlled environments, such as darkened rooms, or rooms where all light sources are diffused glossy displays create more saturated colors, deeper blacks, brighter whites, and are sharper than matte displays"

Screens that have an anti-glare coating kind of disperse light so you don't get reflections (the texture of the screen is slightly rough). The downside to this is that it also disperses some of the light coming from the screen so colours are not quite as 'crisp' as they would be without the AG coating.

I have an LG 23" e-IPS (the cheapest kind of IPS panel) which has an AG coating. On a white web page you can kind of see tiny speckles and this is the anti glare/matte finish. If my monitor was glossy then this white web page would be a crisp white with no sparkly bits.

Thats the best way I can describe it.

I have a Macbook Pro and also hate the glossy screen, and so does the missus when she uses it.
I have to say that for all the stick the Hazros get on this forum, their non-glossy screens have a very nice balance between crisp colours and very moderate anti-glare. Perfect for me even near a window, but this is all a bit subjective I suppose. I can still see a few reflections (and as some said before you do learn how to look "through" this), but nowhere near as much as on an iMac screen.
On the topic of the Catleaps, I may be tempted to get one to replace my Hanns G, but the gloss would be too much I think.
