Haha I did want to open it straight away but my takeaway was fresh and tempting so I decided to go for that first!
Well it works, using it just now and I can confirm it work on a 5750 (in process of upgrading but nice to know it works) with dual link DVI. I had to pay £13 customs/VAT so can't grumble. I've only just fired it up so I can't really say a great deal about it just now but it certainly is BIG! The extra desktop real estate is very noticeable, coming from a 24" 1920*1080.
Im sitting far too close and the room is an absolute mess to give any objective opinions just now so Ill reserve that for tomorrow when I get it set up properly and have a play about with it. First impressions are that for what I paid I can't believe the value it represents (so far). I did think I had dead pixels but it was just flecks of dust on the screen in my haste to boot it up
Ill get some pics up tomorrow hopefully and give my thoughts on the whole process and the monitor for those still considering purchasing one as I know it's fraught with risk given the cost of returning them.
Well I just watched Dark Knight Rises HD trailer and mmmmmmmmmmmmm it looks good![]()
Well dispite samsung_korea seller getting my orderer slightly wrong (sent lite version) and it turning up damaged, he has agreed to refund me the FULL amount without me sending the monitor back.
Granted the monitor is so damnged it is useless but I'm well impressed at his attempts to rectify the situation.
A friend, .griff., recommended this thread as I was looking for a 27" monitor. After reading through it I have taken the plunge and ordered an Acheiva Shimian QH270-lite from seller, ta_planet. My current monitor is a dell u2410 so hopefully that will cover the cost of my new purchase once i flog it. I will let you know how it turns out!
Cheers .griff.
Really liking the monitor. Starcraft II is Amazing at 2560x1440. I could never go back to 1080p now...
How are you finding the 470's handling the new res in games?I know what you mean.
I was on 1680x1050 120Hz before and I could never go back. I'm catching up on games I didn't get around to playing through like Dead Space 2, Alice, Alan Wake and Deus Ex. It's really brought gaming back to me as I was starting to find it a bit stale.![]()
I'm not because if things go wrong again I very much doubt he will be so helpful. You gonna reorder from him?
Hello, I saw some guy comment on a youtube video about these Yamakasi's.
and now i've stumbled across this post it has made me very interested.
Can anyone recommend which one is better. I guess i'll be using the DVI port,
i want the (B) version i guess too?
Any ones help would be appreciated
All of the variants (Catleap/Shimian etc) seem to use the same A- LG IPS panel, so the difference between them mostly comes down to which bezel you prefer.
The only exception to that is if you manage to get a 2b version of the Catleap which seems to have a PCB which allows overclocking of the monitor to around 100Hz.
It seems to be a lottery as to whether you get a 2b or not. I purchased a "Pixel Perfect" Catleap (at £270) and luckily got one. But it is very much a lottery.
Did you get the warranty with yours? Because that would take me to £328 or something like that, Im looking at the Catleap Zero Dead pixel - Pixel Perfect. so i may just get the Hazro at that cost?
Im looking on the bay, from seller bigclothcraft
Thanks
