Moogleys, you bought one of these?? What do you think? You don't seem to happy of the build, shall i just stick with getting a Hazro?

cheers mate

The build quality is poor just built cheap and a few screws missing and some poor quality solder, the screen more than makes up for this though and tbh is stunning and makes it superb value.

The biggest issue is the Risk, It is cheap but not if you end up with a box of bits. The Hazro is considerably more expensive for essentially exactly the same monitor but you have a warranty and backing of the sale of goods act and generally better quality control.

If it pays off it's a great deal if not it might be a pain, people have had refunds and the Korean sellers are selling these in the truck load now so they might take a better interest in service or quality control to keep them selling.

The Achieva Shimian is a Hazro HZ27WC just with a different badge stuck to the front.

Identical otherwise.

So, would we say the hazro is overpriced, if the features are the same almost. Obviously you get warranty ect... But the alternative is still cheaper, and they seem happy to refund you.

The price is obviously what everyones going for...

Decisions decisions

So are the non glass Hazro models essentially the same as these or do the non glass Hazro's come with AG?

edit, seems the Hazro non glass is the same and is shiny :( Not left with many options. It's starting to look like a Dell IPS for me.

Ooo moogley you're making me jealous and wonder wether i should risk it. I kinda feel like the hazro is overpriced now i've seen this.

I don't think its overpriced as you get the warranty and backing from ocuk if the hazro goes wrong. For an extra 150 ish its not a bad deal but in the same respect a 150 saving for the same screen is nice as well... :D

Tbh I think its the shiny screen that makes it look so good. I have had a few IPs screens and they don't look as nice with the anti glare.

Yeah it does look good but I'm setting up my new desk tonight next to the door leading out onto my balcony. I'll be sitting there in the afternoon and at night I'll have a lamp on behind me in the other corner. Don't really want to give myself a headache from squinting my eyes all day.

I can watch the tv in mine without turning round in my chair.. It's like looking at a magic eye picture I adjust my focus to what I wan't to see...:D

I'm stuck on which model is best;

Achieva Shimian
PCBANK
Catleap

and if people are buying from the bay, who's the recommended seller? the main two people i see are;

ta_planet & bigclothcraft

:D hehe. Nice one, I wish I wasn't such a fussy git! They look like lovely screens but it would probably end up bothering me to the point where I start thinking "I wish I had gone for monitor with AG" At the price they seem amazing value, but for peace of mind I guess I'm better spending a wee bit more and getting a Dell or something that's not likely to annoy me :mad:

I think as far as picture quality is concerned they are all pretty much the same. Some of the early catleap monitors could be overclocked to around 100Hz but that was version 2B and most of them now are version 2D I think which don't overclock.

I think it is pretty much about How the monitor looks styling wise. It is a shame they dont have any with a thin bezel but I would not be surprised if we start seing new monitors coming out soon in Korea with all this attention from that other forum which is hundreds of pages long.

I like the way some of these ad's say "up to 5 dead pixels is normal and not a reason for return or compensation" lol even tho they are all marked as new..

But that is normal for every monitor, lol. A lot of people have dead/stuck pixels and don't even notice it. That is why the Dell ultrasharp U2711 is £559 at Overclockers as it has a good warranty and a 'zero dead pixel' gaurantee. The DELL monitors that don't have the 'Ultrasharp' in the name don't have this dead pixel gaurantee so if you get a few dead pixels then it's tough luck (unless you buy it on the internet as you can send it back under the distance selling regulations).

The Hazro's have pixel overdrive functionality that all these Korean brands (seem to?) lack. Makes the Hazro a better choice for gamers imo.

Does the Hazro (HZ27WC) really have pixel overdrive? Even if it does I don't agree that makes it a better choice for gamers as it will only add more input lag.

One of the key reasons gamers like the Korean screens is the lack of image processing in the screen.
