Hi, apart from price and design, what's the difference between The Catleap & PCBANK?

Cheers

They all use the same panels, There are a few different versions being used but they are all the same spec and seem to be as good as each other.

The only real difference is the price and design of the screen. The PCBank looks like a Samsung Tv to me.

I would also when you receive the screen consider giving it a once over as mine had a few screws missing that hold the panel in place and a trapped cable from the screen psu to the panel inside the screen. The PCBank is simple to take apart for a look.

That's the annoying thing about 27" it seems like a TV, I'm sure I'd get used to it though.

The main reason why I've gone for the PCBank over the Catleap is because of the stand. The Catleap one looks horrid. PCBank is a lot like my current DGM. But I've read that you could use a vesa mount 100 x 100mm... has anyone done this or know of a decent desk mount that could be used?

The stand is actually not that bad, It wobbles if you bang it but not much. It sits nice and low so the weight is nicely balanced. The stand connects to the monitor by a vesa mount I have not measured it yet. I would imagine most desk arms would fit but this is quite a heavy monitor so would need a decent one.

I posted this image earlier showing the stand... 4 screws connect the stand to the screen.

I'm pretty sure they are also made in Korea

Yeah, but maybe the shareholders of Hazro are British so paying double for the Hazro means the shareholders can buy an Aston Martin or a Bentley.

:D

Apparently the Hazros are 'assembled' in the UK so they must buy the parts from Korea, ship them over here and assemble them in the dusty warehouse they have (a little joke for the people who bought the glass version ;))

I wonder if Hazro are watching this thread as someone from Hazro has posted on these forums 178 times.

Guessing they don't assemble them over there because of quality problems?

I wonder if one of these manufacturers will improve the quality of the internal components and general build quality given the increase in interest of these.

If the panels are one that didnt make the grade for certain companies how come they have LG brand on? Are LG buying them cheap, what company is putting them together and distributing them to the bay sellers?

LG make the panels and sell them to company's like Apple who do a quality check on the panels they receive. They will reject a certain amount for minor imperfections or not meeting the spec they demand. These are then sen't back to LG and regraded depending on what is wrong.
These are then sold at a reduced rate to other manufacturers who are willing to accept the possible flaws. Like PCBank, Yamakasi and Hazro who install the panels into a case with driver board etc and sell them as monitors.
