the panels are all pretty much the same. varying standards ofc. some companies accept a lower standard than others, then they put there own periherals on etc, again all of varying standard. the catleap and the like are generally a lower standard of screen (minor defects) than accepted by apple dell etc and then they put cheap surrounds on and so on thats why they seem a bargain. compared to paying for the best panels and best periherals.

I now have a couple of 2560x1440 wallpapers and I have downloaded some colour profiles that have been put on the other forum. All I need now is the monitor and DVI-D cable to turn up. The monitor has been processed by DHL in Incheon, S.Korea ready for the flight i should imagine. Safe journey, please. I like the packagetrackr.com thing it even has a map showing you where your parcel is.

I think i will have to sell my 23" monitor as i just won't have room on my desk for it, and my pc is in the living room next to our 50" plasma so having a 23" - 27" - 50" will look like a window display for an electrical retailers.

Gooday guys, I've just ordered myself a PCBank Super from the lovelykoreancompanywhomakelotsoflovelythingsincludingaverypopularandroidphone_korea seller. £229 it came to, although I thought it would be £222 but the auction sites 'estimated' price did not match up to the payment processor that they themselves own, funny that? Looking forward to tracking it, I've asked the seller to mark it at around £70-£80 - we will see what happens. I'm pretty sure it is going to destroy my 6850 but oh well, I mainly only play Footy Manager anyway...(on a crusade with Dartford town)

Welcome niko-time. :-) Guessing you payed by PayPal, their conversion rate usually differs to the one eBay state.

I'll probably use mine mainly for FM2012 as well haha.

Thanks for that Griff will have a read.

These screens sound amazing, but I am patient - I bet within a year companys like Samsung, NEC, BenQ will release similar products.

I won't mind paying £400+ just for the warranty - would suck if one of these went wrong in 6 months time etc. I don't use a credit card and I doubt paypal will be any good as time goes by...

Only 60Hz though right?

So are the vast majority of the Korean screens. It was only a relatively small amount of Yamakasi's with a different PCB that could be overclocked towards the 100hz mark. The rest can't.

(In that sense the thread title is somewhat misleading. The thread has evolved over time to encompass all the Korean brands Yamakasi, PC Bank, Acheiva, Crossover etc..)

As kingy666 said all 27" IPS screens are rated at 60Hz. LG don't design the panels to run at higher refresh rates. As I've said numerous times there is a difference between something 'running' at a given refresh rate and something that is designed specifically to take advantage of a given refresh rate. It's a nice bonus I suppose but people seem to be getting a bit over-excited and mislead about this particularly in comparison to the Hazros which actually feature superior pixel responsiveness due to good overdrive and are finely tuned to work nicely at 60Hz.

Ahhhh nothing special about these then apart from saving money. :)

I've got sat next to my NEC 24WMGX3 24" a Samsung S23A700D 23" 120Hz 3D, apart from losing 3.5cm in height and 0.5cm in width, quite shocked at how good the colour reproduction is for a TN, all down to the glossy screen I think which I got used to pretty quick.

Still contemplating if I'm keeping it, need to do more gaming tests.

I would easily pay upto £600 for a 27" IPS 120Hz @ 2560x1440, it's so annoying having kept my NEC 24WMGX3 24" 3 years this June that nothing worthy of upgrading is out 27" 120Hz wise.

Not sure if your intention was to add to what I said or disagree?!?
