Looks promising. News of the problems has been all over the press today.

Has been for the last few days as well - the BBC have had a few lovely pieces on it. As has Sky News.

All credit to them - once they EVENTUALLY got the message...

Been trying to keep my trap shut for the past few days, there's definately some cash coming, over a million from an "unknown source". :D

Whether or not it's enough is another matter!

IIRC they were after approx £1M total and had already got nearly half so if someone is offering over £1M then that should be plenty to finish her off and get her in the skies again, how long she will stay there is another story though.

Got any more details Putty, the cat is out of *** bag now so come on, what's the gossip, the suspense is killing.

Oh, I dunno. I reckon Concorde is THE plane. Vulcan's a pretty close second though (and far more likely to succeed in getting back into the air). :)

Why are you all obsessed with planes???:cool:

Because this is the plane that was going to nuke Russia killing millions of civilians if the cold war that far :p

So... lets keep it because it can kill thousands. hmmm.

No lets keep it because its a reminder of the past and a Remnant of the Cold war era so people can be reminded of mistakes and lessons learnt.

Why keep the wright brothers plane? Its not like that will fly very far

It is the sole airworthy survivor of an era of British engineering brilliance that will never be repeated.

After the Delta Lady we need a Lightning, a Buccaneer and a Victor flying with it.

There is nothing that compares the Delta Lady on full throttle with the engines screaming on takeoff - utterly fabulous.

It aint enough, just prelonging the inevitable. 1 million isnt enough, anyone who thinks it is doesnt know anything about the cost of aircraft spares on an ageing aircraft. Or the certification costs.

The trouble is it has no way to make money, the airshows it will attend will have extra attendances but not enough to make it in any way viable. It will end up on static display somewhere. Its sad but even if it gets finished this will re occur in no time and then eventually everyone gets bored of them pleading poverty and moves onto the next money pit project.
