Your bad driving encounters

Just been to the supermarket, it's pitch black outside, tipping down with rain. Encounter a cyclist riding on the wrong side of the road, all dark clothes, no lights on the bike, didn't look like any reflectors on him or the bike. Yeah, you just crack on mate. Do what you like. Enjoy your Darwin Award, eh?

Are there a lot of drunk people on the road at the moment? People driving at speeds that are not any speed limit (38 in a 60 anyone?), braking for no reason, apparently expecting me to ram through a line of traffic. WTAF?

Edit - forgot I saw an HGV this morning undertaking a taxi that was doing ~40mph in the middle lane of a three lane, 50mph road. That one tickled me I must admit.

Followed someone this morning who sat in the outside lane of the dual carriageway for about a mile before their right turn at a roundabout. There were about 3 cars on the road, including them and me.

Merry Christmas :D

You’re right, I did technically park it

I wouldn’t have done it with my own car, hence why I parked it much, much further away from the house.

But I have tried to since move it - with it being such a short amount of time, didn’t think it would be an issue. There’s now plenty of parking on said road but I can’t move it.
Knock on door of ******* who blocked you in and ask them to move their car as you’re moving your mum’s car (which was supposedly their issue)?

Nope, no permit needed. 101 explained pretty much as per the article you quoted.

They said it doesn’t sound as though there is a reason the car cannot be parked there - the only situation where I couldn’t park there is if it was blocking access to a property (I.e. dropped curb).
Is his rear wheels being in the disabled bay a civil matter?

Also, assume he has a letterbox?

^^^ Have you got any ‘large’ friends. The police seem to think it’s a free for all so might as well go the vigilante route.

Is that Corsa van thing this mental blokes too?

i hate petty stuff like this, yes maybe they are unhappy but to block you in FFS

i would just leave it there as long as possible, maybe untill its next MOT
The bit I can't understand is they've just made the situation worse, and annoyed themselves further, by blocking the Fiesta in. I don't know what they think they've achieved?

@Roff - I think there's a bit of a double whammy nowadays too of more >18 kids living at home so more cars and inadequate provision of parking spaces, plus stupid narrow roads in newer estates.

One of the estates in the village we previously lived in added stacks of communal parking... which was almost empty while the narrow zig-zag of roads around it were littered with cars.
Yes, that's the other thing, people are lazy gets so even if you give them a better option they don't want to have to walk a couple of metres.

@IDCP - yes, that’s an odd one. If someone is really aggressively tailgating me I find somewhere to pull in and let them past. 9 times out of 10 I end up right behind them for quite a distance.

Not really ‘bad driving’ as such but is there a reason why tons of cars would break down on a motorway on the same day? The cold weather? I seriously just saw about 5 or 6 along a 12 mile stretch.

I took my car out for a run to charge the battery because the alarm went off when I got in to go to the supermarket.

Had a woman look annoyed with me because I positioned my car correctly to take a right turn out of a side road meaning she couldn’t cut onto the wrong side of the road. The humanity!

It’s like wacky races every time I go out driving. How do these people pass their test?

Today people were driving 20mph under the speed limit on a motorway / A road presumably because it was foggy. But not foggy at ground level, you could see for 100s of metres at ground level, but because it was foggy in the sky, say 50ft above the ground. FML.

Impatient ***** on the road today. Had a white van come charging up behind me out of nowhere in a 30 zone (I was doing 30) and then tailgated so close I decided to pull over. Unsurprisingly seconds later I was directly behind him as we approached the traffic lights not much further up the road.

Then later on the same journey someone nearly went into the back of me because they decided to speed up massively to change lanes just as I was indicating. It's a two lane road but the outside lane has a right turn that most use so the majority of people go on the inside lane and then move across after the right turn. This one was in too much of a hurry to let me take my turn. Again, they got held up by a bus seconds later so there was no advantage to them.

Had this one happen the other day whilst in the car.

Driving instructor just pulling out. Complained to the driving school who claimed that it was a pupil on test which they failed for that manoeuvre, despite me telling them that there was only the driver in the car. I also know full well if there was an examiner he/she would have stopped them from doing so & ended the test immediately.

Either way, sent it to the ADI with reg details so I'm sure they'll deal with it.

That cheeky Citroen **** was just as bad.

Couple of guys in a modded M3 and C63 AMG with pop and bang maps driving like ****. AMG power sliding out of roundabout due to the wet / slippery conditions.
