Your bad driving encounters

Someone came to a dead stop on a major A road merge point / slip road in front of me today for no reason. Worst part is there was quite a length of slip road parallel to the main carriageway they could have crept along and tried to merge further on but they stopped quite early on the slip road. Even when a kind van driver slowed right down and flashed their lights to let the numpty out they still didn't go! Unbelievable.

Last night I was driving home around 7pm. Following behind someone with their lights off along a town centre one way system, then a sizeable roundabout, and another mile past the local hospital and several junctions with lights.

I was flashing them at sensible intervals, leaving my hi beams on, eventually beeping the horn behind them at lights...Not a clue. The were either totally oblivious or sat there thinking "What's this guy smoking?"

Maybe all their rear lights have failed? Car was only about 5 years old IIRC

Someone joined a dual carriageway in front of me last night and I flashed them cos I thought their lights were off but when I passed them their headlights were on. :D They had one rear light failed and the other one was partly failed / covered in dirt!

Thought you guys would appreciate this, I went into hull on Saturday for a meal out with the Mrs. When we were leaving, while waiting for the lights to turn green, saw the usual amount of traffic, then ours went green as a couple of cars shot through. We thought just another couple of people running a red, then saw a copper turn his lights on and flag the last one down. We were laughing quite a lot  .
I love to see it. You don't have a dashcam by any chance?

Stuck behind someone today doing around 20mph in a 30mph, randomly speeds up to what I estimate was 40mph, sees a Police car travelling in the opposite direction (not even one that could monitor what speed he was doing) and slows back down to about 20mph. Takes a turn off a roundabout at approximately 5mph.

Also had a biker behind me this morning on a bit of dual carriageway. Was trying to filter but couldn't get between me and a van (I'd moved to create space). Changes lane, changes back. Changes lane a further 5 times in about 20 metres. Absolutely no idea where he was trying to go. Certainly didn't save any time and didn't end up filtering at the spots he could have.

Have had so many dangerously close encounters while riding my bike and caught on cam (even ran into the back of one SUV and the gobby old Londoner blamed me) but that's OK because no one likes cyclists

Have had far too many distracted drivers (phone) veer into my path while driving, which, like cycling, is for me not a matter of if, but when it will happen.
You could do us all a favour and submit the footage on the Operation Snap website for the relevant Police force.

It was like the blummin' wacky races on the road today, people not being able to clear traffic light controlled roundabouts still entering them, lane hoggers, general impatience. FML. I really dislike driving during rush hour.

We drove in to the same car park at work and he was a lot more subdued funny enough. It turned out he was the new agency guy we had hired for my team. I have never seen anyone’s colour drains so fast and then go pure red with embarrassment so quickly once he realised I was his new boss. He turned out alright and ended up getting a permanent job in another team and I was one of his references.
I think people see themselves as invulnerable sometime when they’re in a car and do thing they never normally would.

Being the submissive person on the road is actually good. A lot less stress. I used to get road rage all the time. Luckily I am a lot more chill and just let people do what they want.
100% true.

Partly my bad driving but nearly smashed into someone on a roundabout just now. Busy roundabout so you have to be cheeky and take your chances to some extent.

Guy to my right indicating left (there’s an exit before where I was waiting), so thought I can nip out as he turns. Start to pull away but the guy isn’t actually going left, he’s going straight on.

Noticed and managed to anchor on just in time.

Guy travelling opposite direction to me, driving like a tool, no surprise to see him holding his phone with his right hand just away from his face (window was down so it was easy to see).

Tuesday night when I was heading home (jocks lodge incase anyone live near hull/Beverley). There's some concrete barriers separating a works road from the main one. This guy in a range rover (with private plate of course) comes bombing down this road at maybe 40 (the main road was standstill with traffic), he almost wiped out a workman in his hut. Tempted to pull the footage from the car. This 4x4 also stopped on a roundabout before deciding where to go  .
Deffo send to the rozzers if you got it on camera.
