Because I mostly use Youtube on my TV or AppleTV so I don't want adverts there. I listen to a lot of videos where I don't need to see a video so I like background play. Downloading videos to the iPad is helpful for longer journeys to keep our toddler entertained/awake.

If all you do is watch YouTube on a PC or Android phone I suppose you could manage without it but for me YTP is a no brainer.

FYI Poland still works, a bit dearer than what we could get before but still a lot cheaper than the UK prices.

I’m happy to pay the still considerably cheaper YouTube Premium and not have to worry about using 3rd party tools to get things running properly.

Well obviously it's a subjected opinion, but for me, (who uses a chromecast with google tv), it is a better service. That's just the way it is for me. Obviously your millage my vary depending on how you watch. Not being a premium member also has the added bonus that if I accidentally click a notification on my phone then hit the back button, the video no longer plays in the background! My secondary device for watching Youtube is a browser with U block origin, so again, better than premium.

You couldn't even sign up using a cheap country which literally takes 1 minute to do.

And now you're preaching rubbish about how these apps are better than having YTP.

Stop chatting out of your ass just because you couldn't work out how to do a very simple thing.
