Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

Ekhmmm.... I had the one that was on Xtreme Sys and was showing as 1.21D, but then Ket said that someone made a typo as it shows as 1.1 in the UEFI...
Im confused now...

Well bloody hell, annoyingly OCuk decided to only ship half my order so I've received a 2700k and no motherboard today..... AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!

Really, really, REALLY glad I stripped my rig down this morning ready for its arrival now. I don't know what's going off with them at the minute its not the first time recently that they've not shipped on time, I wouldn't mind but they sent a damn shipping number so I had no reason to suspect this would happen..... Just rang them, its still on the warehouse shelf apparently, nice.

*Edit* OcUK now sorted, they are on it. This stuff happens I suppose.

Right, I got my brand new Asrock Extreme 4 and I want to check something with you guys. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have to check. First of all it was not sealed if that makes a difference. It was in an anti static bag but not sealed. The pins are ALL bent. But I think they are meant to be? The two L shapes of pins around the middle part of the socket all point inwards towards the center at 45 degrees. They are all perfectly bent inline with each other about 45 degrees so I can only assume this is "normal" ? I thought that pins were simply straight up vertical? Which is right? I will draw a picture and upload later. Is this what people have been struggling with the same thing? Mine are all perfectly symetrical but not vertical. I have NOT put a CPU into the slot yet all I did was open it and have a look.

I am off to google. Is it worth making a new thread about this, seems a lot of people complain of bent pins on it. I need to know asap if I need to return this within 7 days distance selling regs.

I don't think I explained it very well and it is not something that can be photographed easily even with some ridiculous macro lens. I will draw a pic and upload later.

Give us some pics. Haven't got a clue what you've been describing lol ;)

Is it like this:

if so - perfectly normal!!!

Looking a processor contacts I'd say it was normal, mines arriving today so I'll have a look.

Ok guys sorry I mean like this:

You need to look closely to recognise this from the right angle. The pins may all look symetrical and nice and even, but they actually are not at 0 degrees and vertical. Each L shape of pins tilts in the direction as above.

That is normal.... A bent pin(s) is obvious to spot because it sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest next to it. Also pins in these sockets do not stand up straight like a needle as you seem to think. They have a little bend in them and a head where the cpu pad sits on. A bent pin is something very different a bent pin is a damaged pin that does not line up like the rest on the socket. In your case they all clearly line up the same so no bent pins.

Ok I was being totally overly analytical then. Sorry, just because I read issues of bent pins I studied it in greater detail than I ever have and noticed they were not totally vertical. My bad. Sorry to cause alarm! So when you clamp the bracket over the cpu down onto the pins, why do they not fold down and bend under pressure if the pins are not vertical? I thought they were vertical to give strength on other sockets.

Anyway...sorry yeah. Ignore me. :)
I will get clocking on it tonight.
