Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

Guess its only of use for Windows 32-bit - shame as I would have found it useful for creating a virtual disk for my pagefile and temp folders....

No it's good for 64bit as well, it creates a ram disk for ready boost, system temp files, IE cache files, Memory pagefile, User temp files and Firefox cache files ;-))
You can also back it up so you keep the cache next time you start up.

Yeah I tried it earlier on mate and created a 8Gb drive to test it with. It didn't make any noteable difference though in terms of performance as I'm running an SSD anyways....

Just installed one of these Motherboards to have a play with. Just ran the Unigine Heaven Benchmark with 2 5850s in crossfire and noticed my score as dropped by 200 from my previous Gigabyte Z68 UD4 at the same OC speed. Is the external molex power on the Motherboard of any importance? Anyone have any experience with it connected.

Defo not mate, I have 2 x 5850's and never had to use the extra molex.
Didn't you get the Extreme 7 Gen3? - Think that has that NF200 chip in it or somat which can have a slight affect on performance? not sure mate.

Nah! Nah! I have a Gigabyte UD7-B3 and Z68X UD4 which i've been using! Jumped on this Mobo to have a play with. Also noticed that it dropped the Windows experience scores from 7.8 to 7.7 on the graphics side and my ram from 7.9 to 7.8 allthough I dont read too much into that. It also likes its vdroop. Will have a play with that later.
