Currently using version 1.20 which as been rock solid, wont be updating unless there are benefits that im unaware of.

Nope, I might get a z77 board, but im keeping my 2500k. I'll rethink when IB refresh comes out.

i wont change my bios as it offers nothing new unless you have a ivy bridge..... which you don't 
i have a 2600k @ 4.5 so i wont upgrade the cpu i doubt, would rather get upgrade to my 570gtx

Do it in bios mate much easier.
Thats because its the specification info. Just tells you what the offiicial CPU details are. Core speed below on the left will tell you the current CPU speed. Which says 1.6 with speed step.

So I have this Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 and i'm a little annoyed at this particular motherboard. I've had it a while, and its been great and all, but the USB 2 transfer speeds are just unbearable.
Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, I have tried searching everywhere and any issues with USB tend to be of the 3.0 variety, however I am only interested currently in USB2 speeds.
When I transfer a large file, typically 2-8 gigs it will start off OK and then slow down, but it often just hangs on calculating. When it does transfer it will normally do a certain amount before it starts throwing ETAs of 20 hours at me, but it normally takes 20 minutes for 6 gigs. (tested multiple drives so its definitely the pc side of things)
The worst part is that for some reason while the USB drive is active the entire pc will slow right down to the point where its unusable, windows will not open, webpages will not load etc, but the second I pull the dongle from the port all the windows open instantly.
I've tried a couple of things, but I normally just give up when nothing changes and so I hope I'm not missing something really nubby but the web doesn't seam to hold any answers.

not had this issue with USB2 i find it quite fast, faster than the 3 other pc's i use. you sure its not your usb drive?

No problem with USB here, But I only really use it for transferring music over to phone.
as anyone found out what the memory channel 0/1 rank max and VR 1/VR 2 readings are for?

Am I the only one the has USB problems with this board?
I usually have 4 devices plugged in USB. When I plug in another device, another one turn off. Sometimes it doesn't happen though.

No such problems here.
Anyone tried the latest 2.10 bios? Its the official release for ivybridge compatibility

You check virtu mvp? isn't that ment to be supported with bios to make it full edition. You got any pics you can show us?

No word on virtu mvp, but the new bios _finally_ fixed the mouse / keyboard issues within the bios for me. A couple of things were defaulted to the wrong setting instead of set to auto.
