Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

what exactly does this do?

Its the new feature found on Z77 boards. Where the GFX Card and IGP work together to reduce input lag, and as a side effect, increases FPS.

Just to show it installed on my z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3:

DVI connected to my gtx 580 only. Ran the Street Fighter 4 bench test with the same settings on both runs.

With Hyperformance and Virtual V-Sync ON:

With them both OFF:

Who needs a Z77 board now :)

So do you only have one lead? going from GPU to monitor or do you have both GPU and iGPU? how would it use IGPU with no lead plugged into it.

Does this only work in conjunction with Nvidia cards?

I think it works with both AMD and nVidia.

Just the one DVI lead from the 580 to the monitor. Nothing else.

It utilises Lucid Vitru on the motherboard. It basically makes the IGP behave like an etra GPU in the pipeline. It makes the IGP do stuff like Z-Culling (getting rid of all the 3D that can't be seen). Also binning frames that won't been seen when rendered from the pipeline. Some **** like that. I'm not technical on these matters.

It basically uses the IGP to assist the main GPU to make the rendering efficient, only rendering what really needs to be seen.

I get Intergrated grahics card not found, when I try to run it.

ok so if i download this and enable it i should get a boost in BF3? i have a 120htz monitor and think i should have vsysnc off.

I don't know. SWTOR didn't mind it being on, but then WoW didn't like it at all. It was all graphic glitching. I guess some games work with it, and some don't.
