*** Zelda: Breath of the Wild ***

Any playing the WiiU version? I want a Switch but I'm going to wait until more games are released, but I really want to play Zelda, just concerned that I won't be getting the 'full experience' playing the WiiU version

I wouldn't worry about that, it's more or less the same. The difference isn't night and day between the platforms.

Even if it isn't as smooth it's still stunning. Do it if you have a Wii U.

mmm it must just not be my sort of game - I have a Wii U doing not a lot - its quite an expensive game so thought I'd watch an hour or so of a playthrough last night

and I just "don't get it" - sure it looks ok, the physics are cool - but ....

Is it worth buying a pro controller?

DOn't play it nearly enough or buy enough games for there to really be value in it for me. I got it, not on a whim, on the hope of lots of old Wii and some Wii U games to kill time over summer. Ended up thoroughly disappointed with the old rehashes, lack of new stuff and meh, after a few months it's basically just been off and waiting for Zelda.

I've played for between 2-3 hours on the Wii U and this is not my experience at all. It's been running quite smoothly.

I was starting to live with it then I noticed the fps died at the horse stable. Even inside where the npcs are it was hard on the eyes.

Got to Kakariko village, watched the frames fly out the window and just switched it off.

On Wii U, also getting some major frame drops. Why on earth the stupid smoke effect, it looks bad, it's hardware not capable of doing the mist/smoke correctly, but it looks out of place when they have it. They could just as easily not had any smoke/mist effects in 99% of the places they have them, it would actually look better. Some bits like in the forest where it gets dark, you get a lot more misty/smoke effect and that is where my frame rate tanks.

Also had one crash loading into a fast travel point after, 3-4 hours of playing maybe.

It's decent, so far maybe overly easy, could do with being a bit harder to be more enjoyable, not insane hard but trash mobs offering SOME danger would be nice. Hard difficulty as a DLC(is that still what it is or have they gone back on it? didn't see a difficulty option) is absolutely ludicrous.

I play the Wii U so infrequently I keep forgetting how uncomfortable the tablet controller is.

It's not the smoke so much for me, it's any grass and/or cluttered areas. At least it gives a good reason to mow down all the grass seeing as they don't drop rupees :P

Also the blue guys hazed me the first couple of times when not using shield properly. The huge guys after the paraglider hit hard too and easily destroy shields.

Running fantastic here on the switch. A couple of dodgy frames here and there. But nothing unbearable. Love it !

The musical score is brilliant.

This game is brilliant!

Just got my glider. extra heart and a horse! :D

Still on 3 hearts, found a horse early on, then let it go, now got another.

I love and hate horse riding, love how kinda real it is, you can't really control it...like real life. but hate that you can't really control it!
