*** Zelda: Breath of the Wild ***

Thank you for the reply.

Do you have any idea how this works with knew systems? I know Nintendo are way behind the times here, but say I buy a future console and Nintendo offer backwards compatibilty (practically 0%) or and upgrade program silimar to Wii vc 》 Wii U system

Will my system still need to be functional ? or can they do it via account?

Sorry if I made that more difficult to understand than it needed to be.

No one knows yet, with everyone having a mynintendo account I'm hopeful everything will be tied to your account and accessible on any Switch by logging in.

Many folks are getting sick of rebuying again and again but people need to vote with their wallets and stop buying and then they'll have to reevaluate.

How could you know that?

I'm betting there will be more to the hard mode than just taking more damage etc. It's very unlikely that new story content is complete although it has probably been worked on to some degree.

This game already seems massive in content, never understood why people complain about getting more (optional) content for good games, especially while the base game is good value already. Is it because people want to sell their games after finishing them and this disrupts that?

If you feel the day 1 bonuses are naff then you are under no obligation to buy into the pass early - I'm not going to. That "Nintendo Switch" Shirt for Link is going to ruin the immersion abit anyway :p

The point is I'm spending 50 quid on a game and it's not the whole thing. I want the full Zelda experience so that means another 20 quid, obviously it's optional but if there is story content as slated then it seems unfair to put that behind a pay wall.

Maybe it's better to wait for a GOTY version but personally I don't want to hold out until Xmas for that so may end up buying it but will definitely wait for the reviews of the first pack.

Now they just need to let me migrate my 3DS and WiiU digital content to the Switch/my Nintendo account.

Would love that to happen but think zero chance of it being offered for free, likely you'll have to pay an upgrade fee like when moving a title from Wii to Wii U.

There was no fee for moving Wii VC to WiiU, but you could only play them in 'Wii Mode' of course.

The upgrade fee was for if you wanted to download the same game from the WiiU eShop to take advantage of the GamePad mirrored display, save states and other features.

Cheers for clarifying, that all should have been included for free in my opinion.

As much as I'm excited for this game, I can't help but feel from every single video I see of the game, the world looks so so so empty, like no man's sky empty.

Nintendo purposely didn't show towns in the previous demos, they seem to really want players to feel that sense of discovery which is great.

Interesting interview re. Zelda and 1-2 Switch on Nintendo Voice Chat podcast with Bill Trinen from Nintendo Treehouse.

Does anyone here actually purchase guides for games? I do not recall ever doing that. If I was every really stuck or want tips I just use google.

If I'm really stuck I usually check online but want to pick up the hardback version as a collectors piece like Kobi said.

let's hope so, but no mans sky didn't want to show what was at the centre of the universe so that players feel that sense of discovery. in reality it was sneaky marketing to hide the lack of content. are we expecting places that are as big as just a small village, a town, or even a city, or just perhaps a campsite with 20 buildings and that's it, each with similar content, so a pub style place, a few houses, a guard tower and that's it?

i pray not, i pray we see actual massive castles, massive towns but i just can't see how they will manage to pull it off.

NMS only had 11 people working on their game for a couple of years, it was never going to meet the hype hence why I didn't pre-order and picked it up later for £20 and got my money's worth in that sense. I can't imagine how big the team working on Zelda is, they've had ages and aren't in the habit of releasing stinkers too often so I have faith it'll be good.

Honestly, I love not knowing a great deal about the game and I have avoided major spoilers like IGN showing the first 20 minutes of gameplay etc..

I've tried not to watch too much either, I've seen a bit of the start but didn't really learn anything about the story as Digital Foundry were commentating over the top.

IGN Nintendo Voice Chat podcast had an interview with a guy from Nintendo the other day and he asked them if they knew what the story was about and even with all they had seen (and played) they didn't know what the larger story was.

I have all the amiibos coming, mainly because I like the models, rather than for using them.

I like the archer Link, the rider one would be nice if it wasn't for the big lump of clear plastic they stuck under the horse.

They should design them so they don't require supports, the horse running with Link on the back could have looked good. They spoilt the early link one too by having him dangling off some lump of plastic.

Apparently not.

Shame, I like the fact weapons can break but imagine I would get quite attached to certain ones especially if I've had a really tough battle or journey to find them in the first place, like in Skyrim or Oblivion.

Would have like to seen a system where the damage output is reduced when a weapon is damaged but you could repair it, if you don't then the chance of breaking goes up.

I'll be waiting for reviews, no early ones and I have a feeling this will be a weak entry... I'll probably get the switch, and give away my wii u if this gets classic status.

Edge supposedly gave it a 10/10 and they don't throw 10s around like some places.

The early previews have been incredibly positive.

I'm quite glad in a way there aren't too many games, I know that sounds stupid and to appeal to more people I'd like there to be a good selection to help the console succeed but personally I have so many games I never get round to finishing anything.

I bought an Xbox One S during the Black Friday sale, came with Forza Horizon 3, FIFA 17 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. I love the Tomb Raider games but haven't even taken this out of the cellophane yet...

I'm going to try and limit the games I buy moving forward, I look at my Steam library and I've wasted so much money buying stuff in the sales just for it to sit in my list and never get played.

I bought a used 32GB Wii U at the weekend for £80 with Mario Kart 8. I'll make do with that until at least Odyssey is released this Christmas. In the meantime I plan on playing through all the Wii U Mario games.

I want a Switch but once I'm done with Zelda there's nothing else for months that I would want to play.

Bargain, is a great little machine.

Highly recommend Mario 3D World, and can be had cheap as a Nintendo Selects title, will likely get more expensive in the future.
