*** Zelda: Breath of the Wild ***

I just started this on the Wii U (havent had a nintendo console since the GC and figured the Wii U was a decent start). I havent got a clue where I am supposed to go as i did what i always do, get impatient and miss a load of dialogue LOL.

I found a shrine but it has a nasty robot fella in front of it and my tree twig just isnt cutting it.

This game is so stunning though...i just spent an hour cooking random things and seeing what comes out of it, i cant say any game has pulled me in as much as this for a long time, well apart from Rust. Need some recipes.

You need to find the hidden Kurok seeds (900 of them spread out over the map!) and take them to their 'boss' who will reward you with slot expansions for hand weapons, shields & bows.

Wait... seriously?!

FFS, I have been micro managing my ingredients thinking I only had 2/3 pages...

*Derp* :o
I did wonder about that then only realised when I went to Goron mountain and started finding new stuff I hadn't seen before and it just expanded...

Apparently you can hold 999 of each ingredient/item

Major facepalm from me tbh.

I just assumed you had the 2/3 pages and thus never let it get full (just in case I found something on my travels).

It has been a while since I played tbh but I am now yearning to get back into it.

It's seeing stuff like this that makes me appreciate and enjoy this game. I haven't even considered going to Goron Mountain yet. This is despite probably spending considerably more hours in than you currently have. I just love for some reason how open it is despite it going against everything I hate about open games ha!

I've probably got too much now to the point I don't really know what to do with it all now. I should really make some elixirs etc but I'm too scared to make anything in case I need to sell it for rupees later. As a result I have 4/5 pages of junk in Link's trunk now....

I was worried about that too, been upgrading armour sets and they've been using some of my stuff which is good, also flogged some gems to afford the house and upgrade it.

I'm not so worried about hording now, I have the snowquill armour which sorts me for cold, I want to get the flame-proof set next so won't need to worry about so many elixirs.

In Skyrim and Oblivion I ended up with multiple houses stocked full of stuff that I never went back to and so was essentially wasted... I'm trying not to repeat that with Zelda. I'd rather make use of stuff now and worry about what I'm missing later, that'll give me a good reason to keep playing as I might not even be bothered by then.

For Goron mountain I was hesitant at first because of the heat and I hadn't explored much of the map. Thinking I would get flame resistant armor elsewhere but then figured the worst is I burst into flames and then turn around :p

One thing I hate about some open world games is when "oh you want to go to that mountain, ok you need to go over the other side of the map to get an item to do it first" forcing you to use the whole map. Whereas the design for this is more intuitive.

Either way, glad I went. Full flame armor set looks awesome, the Gorons were fun and the DB was good as well :) Loving this game more and more. I think I'm around 20-30 hours now. Need to see if the Switch will tell me yet.

If you want to see how many hours you've played the game for: Return to the main UI move the stick to your little avatar in the top left and click A. It should tell you there. With the amount of hours you've clocked up already it should tell you now.

It was looking at the mountain/volcano made me think I bet everything there will absolutely rinse me, I'll leave that for later... I'll go there next though as I have side-quests I need to venture there for.

My journey up death mountain was interesting...

I didn't find/acquire the Flame Potions, so I was literally on fire all the way up to Goron Town :D. I had actually run out of food by the time I arrived there but made it to the armour shop with 3 hearts remaining, where fortunately they had the flame resistant gear for sale. Good times :).

Did anyone else come across this NPC and and expect to find...

Light/Holy Arrows inside the castle?

Such a tease!. I played completely blind so ended up searching Zelda's study/room and some other areas thoroughly :o - I had no idea if it was actually possible to acquire Light arrows or not, which it appears... not.

Hahahaha :D

For me I bought the elixirs from an NPC at foothill stable (pure chance but then again I make a point of speaking to all NPCs I see) so I had some in stock. I completely forgot until I did the tower and then glided off and as I began to approach the path Link burst into flame!!! :D

Took the elixir which gave me enough time to get to the southern mine and get the flame proof jacket which got me to Goron city :)
