Zombicide!

Thinking about it, it might make more sense that if you roll and pass the accuracy score, you hit the Walker, but if you fail, you hit the survivor. That would make spraying a zone with something like a shotgun or assault rifle really dangerous with a survivor present as you're likely to hit them at least once, but with something like a pistol it could be worth the risk.

I'm just quoting myself because this is the house rule I brought into our games months ago, which I know a few people here disagreed with. Turns out the developers agree with me, as this is now the official rule for the Black Plague edition. About time too :D

That is good to know, Could end badly with the sub machine guns though lol.

Only 9 hours left for those interested in backing :)
Yeah, that's why I like the rule. There's a risk/reward to firing into survivor zones now. It just makes more sense, especially when you consider that by Season 3 the survivors are meant to be more experienced, they'd be able to aim properly enough to hit the zombies from time to time!

So I bought zombicide and the paint kit a few months ago. I've played a few times and never loved it, I don't think table gameing is my thing.

Where would be a good place to sell it and what is a reasonable price to ask for it, its in perfect condition with all the pieces and unpainted. I think I lost one of the exp sliders but otherwise its all accounted for.

We've played the vanilla version about 4 times now, 6 of us, and I find it quite boring now...its just a case of collecting objectives spread out across the map and managing the experience levels enough so your not swarmed early on and searching for good loot like crazy at the start of the game.

Do the expansions add anything new other than new equipement?

I'd try the marketplace on BoardGameGeek but it's pretty popular so I doubt it'll sell all that well :(

If Zombicide was your first tabletop game maybe it's just not the one that clicks with you? Always happy to suggest some other games if you tell me what you like? :)

The expansions/extra seasons add:

  • Toxic Zombies (Toxic City Mall)
  • Beserker Zombies (S2, Prison Outbreak)
  • Skinner Zombies (S3, Rue Morgue)
  • Seeker Zombies (S3, Angry Neigbours)
  • Prison Scenario with Revolving doors/Security areas/Cells to contend with
  • Helicopter for movement/final goal in S3
  • Tents in S3 - making no noise means zombies won't see you!
  • More survivors
  • Zombiviors (When you die you can come back with limited options, a last stand if you will)
  • More weapons some of which can kill Abominations without a Molotov!
  • Ultra Red mode: Levelling after hitting 43XP and weapons to suit!
  • Player v Player mode!

That's all I can remember off the top of my head :p

Just the core box. All backers will get one (hopefully by Christmas) regardless of how many sets they ordered.

I must admit I haven't had a chance to look at them in a good light (our living room needs some work) but the characters are very crisp and detailed, the brown colour shows it surprisingly well in the flesh.

The new plastic character trays are great, the XP markers have a nice click and should ease up with a few good zips. The actual character inserts are smaller than I expected but they are nicely done and will be much easier to store.

The whole box is very well presented and looks great when you open it up :). The actual box feels like it is made of heavier stock too, closer to SW: Armada than Zombicide S1, very much a quality product. Just need the tokens to punch out as well as FFG ones do.

Mines out for delivery today.

Will collect Sunday when I see my mate but no time to play it until late January

Edit: Just arrived, time for an unboxing!

Images spoilered in caswe you don't want to to see them

Take the lid off the box and you get this....

my wife wants to get me this for christmas but we need to order tonight to get it delivered in time (due to me working we are having christmas day on 24th)

we are getting mixed opinions (given we only have the first 2 available as the other is out of stock) about 60% say get the latest one and buy the boards/zombies from the earlier ones as they improve the mechanics as they go on and 40% say start from #1 and gradually build up.

im more tempted with season 2 as there are more types of zombies in it with the plan to pick up the mall or the extensions if we enjoy it.

any advice? (chances are it will be ordered in the next few hours and number 2 is in the amazon basket with a few other bits)
