Zombicide!

Fully painted models look so awesome... But I'm too worried about just ruining all them all to give it a try. All the tutorials make it look easy though :/

pick up a tub of cheap toy army figures first to have a practice on or any warhammer set that's on offer to give it a go first.

I haven't started my zombicide figures yet and my painting is terrible compared to most ive seen but it makes everything look much nicer on the table with a bit of colour.

best tip I found was the shades/washes, get some and they make a simple figure look very good as they add so much detail in such a simple step, even 2-4 colours (skin & clothing) and a shade will add so much to the set

I'm really tempted to get into Zombicide but have no idea where to start. Is the current starter box Rue Morgue or should I be looking for something else?

It will just be myself and the misses playing, and it will be our first time playing this type of game!

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Rue Morgue is season 3. It is the most recent modern Zombicide (not counting the Black Plague which is fantasy based)

They have refined and developed the mechanics with each iteration.
I prefer Rue Morgue to the others (not unboxed BP yet)

I'd been considering something like that re; the spare figures, but it does also look like you can buy individual zombicide models from Ebay pretty cheaply too - so plenty of options there.

I'm definitely looking at using a quickshade dip/paint! Watched a good set of videos using them and it does look so effortless. I guess I need to start looking at pricing up a set of paints and working out what other equipment I might need.

Undercoat/Primer
Selection of base colours
Quickshade dip
Matt spray (for after the quickshade)
Blood!

Anything else? :D

You may want some sort of varnish to coat the models in once you have finised painting them to protect your paint job :)

If you know anyone with the games, play them first as everyone is different.

My friends son refuses to play Rue Morgue as he doesn't like the new rules (this might be why we like it, besides, he never reads them anyway)

Unfortunately I don't otherwise I would have, all my local friends aren't gamers :(

Yeah :) I wrote matt spray but it was a varnish type thing for after the quickshade that I was thinking of! Suppose I'll be wanting some brushes too. lol

Ahhh my bad! Brushes could be useful lol :p

If you can stick some pictures up when you've started painting, always nice to see painted minis!

I'm getting an 'Aegis Suit Satin Varnish' with this Z:BP Army Painter set I've ordered but most people seem to use Matte, should I sell this on and get a Matte?

Its a hefty investment to start painting!

I have AQ: Inferno coming, the style of painting seems totally different and much more time intensive for good results. So much blending and layering and mixing paint! and sadly I dont think my Zombicide paints will cut it for something like Arcadia Quest, I'll need much brighter colours = more money!

No probs, I didn't need to be told I need brushes! :D
I'll get pics up when I get around to it, can't see it being soon though. Can't see my housemate allowing me to paint in the house (especially the sprays) so it's likely to have to wait until the weather picks up. :(

I haven't played Zombicide for ages, but now I feel like I want to get painting again. Also have Super Dungeon Explore to paint!

the minis on SDE are awesome looking, same with arcadia quest i love the style one them.

OT: ive finally got my first 5 fatties painted, just done the flesh on my first set of runners, i love how well the minis take the washes (i used citadel earthshade and nuln oil instead of a dip)

i have i think 3 fatties left and i need to blood them up but GW do a technical blood that i will pick up and try out

The page says January and they usually send an email when its on its way to the hub in Europe (Germany).

By next week maybe so might arrive in first week of Feb? Not had time to play it yet so happy to wait a bit longer
