Zombie attack - what weapon would you use?

You dont need heavy rounds though. The best round for the zombie apoc will be .22. You dont need anything bigger.
 
Another +1 for the Halberd, it has reach, it's got slashing and stabbing abilities and a modern version could be made with little metal and light durable materials.

I'd carry small machete for closer contact, and I'd carry a small firearm such as a pistol for emergencies and human encounters.

I think a lot of the suggestions would weigh too much for everyday use.
 
A short blade, something like a sultan sword. You'd have to be up close and personal with them but it'd be small enough and light enough to move it quickly in case zombies pulled a "Walking Dead" on you and just appeared.

Or a mortar like on Gears of War :D
 
Shot gun for a one off room clearing weapon.

Samurai sword for long term weapon, although i have a feeling that a samurai sword without the necessary skill is as much is as a potato.
 
The time for talking is over. Now call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit it hard and we hit it fast, with a major, and I mean major, leaflet campaign.



Seriously though, I wouldn't be ****ing about with a shotgun and a pickup truck, I would be heading for the nearest space station with a nuke.
 
Hmmm, a sword would require a fair amount of energy to swing around, especially if you were surrounded by zombie hoards, I recon it wouldn't take them long to tire you out then it's game over.
I would definitely go with a chainsaw for effect, then once that was out of fuel go at them with a spas-12 with dragon breath shells.

If I could have any weapon, it would be a machine gun with ridiculously large mag/drum with a lot of ammunition, and a spare gun or three. Everyone knows you get bitten whilst reloading using a shotgun. :)

Actual weapons that I could use in my house are:

Kitchen Knives
Spades/shovels
Long beams of wood
Metal bar
Crowbar
Set of Golf Irons
Hammer
Cricket bat
 
Ideally some sort of blade, pref a claymore sword like a boss.

Realistically, short sword, kukri and maybe some sort of firearm with a silencer.

Failing all dat, a tank. May run outta fuel at some point, but all youd have to do is find a nice place to park up and bunker down in with a nice brew. safer than houses.
 
Well, realistically I need to use weapons I can get access to. This means either a sword, hatchet combo or robbing the flame thrower from my neighbours shed.
