How hot should a Q6600 G0 be on a Tuniq Tower at idle, mine seems toasty.

These are files you should end up with, after extracting the download, run Atsiv, then coretemp-startup.
You will need to run this every time you want to run coretemp.
Are you extracting the download to a new file!

Rob :)

I don't get a templog file, but i get the rest.

Temps idle don't look to bad, I'm running one at stock at the moment idle is 30,32,26,27 and this is under water (swiftech).

Edit: My VID is 1.25v

Rob

Well VID usually ranges from 1.25-1.325v, with lower being considered to be better.

I'm making the assumption that Speedstep doesn't interfere with the reading of the VID. If it does then it might actually be higher than is being shown atm.

it appears that speedstep does effect VID...

temps still seem too high though

edit: all temps gone up by 3-4c since i posted this.

Yeah must admit seem on the rather hot side. My Q6600's (Rev. Go @3.4) temp is at 22c at the moment according to Everest, but i have the thermalright 120 extreme HS

Are you sure the TT isn't jammed against the chipset heatsink or anything?

The TT definitely needs to be reseated.

well it sits right over the northbridge heatsink, which gets quite hot, but it isnt touching it.

what will reseating do, becasue that means taking my pc apart again :(
