What film did you watch last night?

He say you Brade Runna!

Funnily enough I watched a bit of Blade Runner: The Final Cut on bluray last night as I was setting up a 5.1 speaker system for the TV downstairs.
The scene where Deckard is shooting the snake lady in the shopping complex is hilarious now, pretty much like the recent Red Dwarf special on Dave where the crew are running through the outdoor market!

Once Upon a Time in the West- in 720p Simply awesome 9/10. Love the tension buildups in these types of films.
Home alone 2 - Not as great as the first, but still very funny and a lot of laughs, 7/10.

The White Ribbon – A second viewing of the tale of a German village and the events that occur in the years before WW1. A dark, strong, slow moving film shot beautifully in black and white with faultless acting. What is there behind the innocence, I'll let you ponder about that.

A superb film, a very strong candidate for the 2010 Foreign Language Film Oscar.

Let the Right One In

A completely different take on the vampire genre. This film is actually believable and adheres to all the vampire conventions.

At its core it's the story of two very hurt individuals who find comfort in one another.

Not as good as I was expecting but nevertheless a very good and original vampire story.

7/10

Cloverfield, the Mrs hadn't seen it so was a good excuse to break it out. Noticed a lot more on the 2nd watch, just quick lines here and there which add to the whole experience that I missed first time around in the cinema.

i just watched spirited away on bbc2. the american voices did grate but you can just about forgive it for that. it's still absolutely stunning to watch.

Yeah, the subtitled versions are much better!

Also see Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbour Totoro, done by the same studio.
