Yer even my Xperia x1 does 800 x 480 in a 3" screen delivering 310PPI easily.

It does rule to have that sort of pixel density as I dont need cleartype on hehe

My contract ended in march, been on o2 iphone simplicity with my 3g 8gb (1 month rolling) waiting for this to be announced, if monthly costs are reasonable, which im sure they wont then im going to consider the iphone 4 :).

Steve is right on the camera - Less pixels is better, especially on such a small sensor.
A larger pixel pitch means better quality images. The iPhone 4 has a pitch of 1.7 µm which is approaching compact camera quality.
 
After reading Engadget's break down of the event, it's basically sold it to me. I'm happy with my 3G, resisted getting a 3GS, and am out of contract, so will pick it up as soon as it's out!
 
Question how much would I get for my 3G these days?

It's not in bad nick it's got a small crack where the USB cable plugs in and a few scuffs here and there but nothing major, few specs of dust under the screen as well

Any ideas?

Same here, when the prices are announced i'm gonna see what will be the best deal, carry on with contract and buy PAYG or new contract.

Wasn't criticising the networks for this, more that I don't think Apple should be releasing an iPhone every year when the minimum contracts are 18 months. How much easier would it be if those who wanted could take out the contracts and still get hold of the new iPhones when they became available.

Its a 30 pin connector, cant remember what the others are, think its the same.

I've seen £200 odd pound to recycle it, mines not in great shape. If they will accept just going to send it over to O2 to recycle it.

The dock connector is the same, however the case of the new iphone is totally different so those with iPhone docks will either have to replace theirs or get a small plugin template thing if they have a universal dock.

You can still use your older dock cables just fine.
 
It looks very nice. Still deciding on NOW I would get one.

I currently have a 32Gb 3GS on Vodafone whcih I got on the 14th Jan this year.

Any ideas guys?
